Weapon groups

I was just wondering does anybody know how to asign weapon groups ???

yup....
1.assign keys to the ACTIVATE controls(ignore the ASSIGN controls,they do nothing)
2.launch to space
3.activate first group,select/deselect active weapons for that group in the gun list
4.activate next group,select/deselect
5.and so on

when you activate a weapons group it deactivates/activates weapons the same as you last had them when that group was active.

weapons groups are saved on a per-character basis,which means you can have different groups for all your ships

Is there any reason to assign groups to weapons, no combination puts out more damage more accuratly than four nomads,two tizzies,and some goos torps and mines.If someone would tell me a better combo than this, Iwould be much abliged.

Well, it really depends on what you want - 6 skyblast B's really put out a lot of punishment, but they're far more accurate than the nomad/tiz combination. For sheer firepower: nomads/tiz, but for noob blasting: definitely skyblasts. It's dang hard to hit a starflier with 600 m/sec weapons.

your aiming reticle is _only_ accurate when all active weapons are the same projectile speed.also,weapon groups serve as a tool to conserve missiles and power - you can set two erasers a torp to launch at the same time for a knockout move,separate your energy missiles from hull etc
