Use the nav map to with the "mineable zones" overlay checked, then fly out to a zone and start shooting the small rocks/debris/asteroids/whatevers that fly around.

Also, it's usually a good idea to "turn off" all your weapons but one (meaning click on their name in the lower right part of the screen when you are in space, that will deselect them), because if you use all your weapons you risk destroying whatever there was in the asteroid.

Second thing, since it's a pretty tedious job (maybe 10% of asteroids actually contain anything!), you might want to try mining something valuable like copper or silver in Colorado, or Gold in Dublin. Forget about Scrap Metal, it ain't worth anything...

you should watch out for the radiation in that system, itll melt your ship in no time bring lots of bats and unmount wepons to save on repairs or you can buy a weak wepon at solarius for a cheap price, remember , nanobots=lots of time,no bots= Fiery explosion (thats you) lol

Well, i say just look at his sig. Its got a point

P.S. for those slow minded, i mean his comment that the humpback is a brick. Its true, and it is the optimum ship for mining in that system.

But do bring lots of nanos

thx black hole

another good mining place is in Omicron theta, the green clouds have artifacts in them, whats wierd is that the radiation is only around the edge of the cloud.
