Failure to move to next level

I am stuck on level 33 and to move to a higher level requires a mission, but the missions finished when I was level 20. Does anybody know what I should do?

i think you might have a glitch after the missions the way you are supposed to go up is by getting lots of credits etc.

I'm on level 33 and have 2,300.000, credits surely this enough?

Are you in SP or MP game? Any mods running? SP has a limit which you have reached, though I thought it was 32.

I have reached as high as level 38 before and 8,000,000+ credits but it seems stuck this time. I am playing the sp game with no mods.

Bad news time, your autosave is corrupt and your going to have to delete it, most problems with leveling up are caused by this.

I completed the game again and am now level 38 and worth nearly 3 million credits.

38 is as high as it goes. You can stil run missions, mine and so forth and make money, just no increase.

Incorrect. just do a faction mission, the game slightly glitches by caliming you need a mission, while in reality, you just require funds. Lvl 38 is max SP level.
