SP: Just out of curiosity

Just out of curiosity, after the "really really big battle" are there any more missions involving the main characters or is that the end?

Thats the end, after u set off the Hypergate and get rid of the Nomads, that is the end of the story, The only jobs after that are ones available through the job board in the bar.

Thats when you truly get to "Freelance" and explore any and all systems. mine, Trade or run local missions. Try other ships as well.

Welcome to TLR

The game leaves you with the impression that there is more to come. Hopefully, there will be someday. But not until Microsoft decides it is worth doing.

Plenty to do on your own though. After the "big battle" you really are a freelancer. Whatever you do is all up to you.

Where in the world is Orillion??? At the end of the game, he dissapears and is never heard of again... weird stuff. Plus, where are Juni and King? Lots of questions remain unanswered.

Lol, yeah, it's the irony of the SP campaign... Oh well, I guess Juni didn't like Trent so much after all (just hope she's not on Curacao with that King...).

Post Tue Aug 30, 2005 5:45 am

At the end is says something like "Orillion wants me (trent) to be his spy in Liberty" so its like the story hasnt ended, its a cliffhanger. I mean DA or Microsoft wouldnt put that bit in if they didnt think they would continue it sometime...

I just wish it to be true... Even though they were probably just leaving the door open for a possible sequel, which might or might not come...

I just hope it does some day and we get some serious fighting in the Omicron systems! That would be awesome!

Just mod till you canrt mod no more, make your own sequel, cos Microsoft are evil

-Therefore i am

It is EXTREMELY improbable that Mircosfot/DA will create a sequel (unless an exogenic developer purchases the license), for a variety of factors:
A: Lack of Profit
B: Space Sim (which it is technically labelled as, I beleive) Marketis a Niche
C: Politically Impossible (well, according to Breslin, just see his thread).
D: Time (what non-fanbase player recalls Freelancer anyway).

Yeah, we all know microEVILsoft won't make another, but we can dream cant we? Anyway you're right in saying just try mod after mod after mod. There is some serious gaming hours to be had on these mods! And plus some TCs have storylines themselves.

I'm pretty sure it would be possible to add more story missions. Or at least stick Juni and King in da' bar.

Edited sig out, once per thread please.

No, Microsoft would probably hype it at least somewhat to premeptivley and redundantly enlighten the fanbse prior to release or late-development.
