A Few Thoughts on Freelancer
I've been lurking here for quite some time and this is my first post.
I wanted to say a few things about Freelancer and I hope this is the correct place to post it.
I know the argument has been made countless times about the control system in this game. I happen to really dig it. It works with my imagination. I fly with a LogiTech trackball and it's a blast.
I've been running a little 'private' server (going public soon) for my friends and after a few years, we're still playing the game. IMO that says a lot about the quality / replay value of the game.
There are countless things about this game that I really like, from the graphics and sound to the custom add-ons. When I play Freelancer I lose myself in the game and after all, isn't that what a good game is supposed to do?
I also wanted to send out a HUGE thank you to Sanic for outstanding ship add on (I run it with the Evolutions 1.27. Also thanx to anyone who contributed to that package)
I'm in my mid 30s and I grew up with the Star Wars films and toys.
Life goes in such a way that if I were to sit outside and play with Star Wars ships, odds are my neighbors would call the nice men with the white jackets and padded rooms. Because of the Sanic ship add-on I get to fly a Y-Wing!
I cannot express how much joy that brings me.
Sure it sounds stupid, but it really is the small things in life that make it worth living.
Keep up the good work Lancers Reactor staff and crew.
You provide a great service to the Freelancer community.
