Well i havent seen this site for about 3-4 mounths and came back...but it seems that theres less...and less posts in the forums everyday....is this game still popular or slowy dying away?...
I think it is still popular but I know for me atleast I do not like to play one game all the time so I drop in from time to time to keep up with the latest news but without playing I recently I really have nothing to contribute. When I finish my current games and school work then I will probabally go back to Freelancer and play around. I guess I am trying to say it is probabally a seasonal thing.

just go to the multiplayer part of the game sometime and see how many servers and players their are
several of the servers manage to keep around 20 to 30 players on almost 24/7
i agree with LXP, for a game this old its pretty amazing
but it just goes to show what a great game it really is
definitly not dying

I will never tire of the game.
Some friends convinced me to try Eve-Online.
How agonizing.
What a waste of $19.95
Part of the joy of Freelancer is the freedom of flying the ship, and the creators of Eve really have stolen the majority of their ideas from Freelancer and the Modders in the Freelancer Community.
Freelancer is a great game and will always be a favourite.
I spend $50.00 a month for cable internet, just for my TNG server.
I use DSL to play.
This game is the best.
I will shut up now.

Well, I downloaded it and the first month is 19.95.
But in my humble opinion, it blows!
They have taken all their ideas from this game!!!
The character ideas are theirs as far as the detail, education and such.
But, the idea of being a trader, pirate and such is taken directly from this game.
And who needs this point and click crap????
Let me guide my ship, control my weaps etc.
I won't pay for a second month of it, that is for sure.
Maybe I did not give it a fair shake, but I see that 75% of EVE was taken from Freelancer and the work of modders in the Freelancer community and I say "F" that!
Maybe I am just being a grouch because I turned 45 today, but this is the only Freelancer.
This is a quote from Bobways site advertising for EVE on-line.
"Here on EVE-On-line you will be able to play as a Freelancer, Pirate, Navy fighter or corp. member"
Sorry, but you are a "Freelancer" "Pirate" or a "Navy Fighter" on Free Freaking Lancer!!!!!
Not EVE-on line GRRRRR!
Ahhhh all better now!!!
