What can you do in freelancer

Hey, i have played through the singleplayer campaign of freelancer, but i really dont know what to do now.
Because all i know what you can do is this.

1) take the same 3 sort of missions
2) go mining
3) Take trade routes
4) Fly around and blow up pirates.

Is there anything else you can do?

What makes multiplayer so much better?

It is a good game, but i just get bored doing the same few things.
Exploring for wrecks gets kind of boring also.

Is there anything im missing here?

And are there any mods where it adds in new missions, or new storylines, or new things to do?

Maybe im just not creative enough

What do all of you do to keep yourselves occupied in the game?

Thanks.

There are more than 50 systems. How many have you found?

There are many bases to discover and trade from. Some sell you some very powerful ships!

Have you found all of the strange "surprises" yet?

Have you tried to do the story line missions in a low level ship? That takes some fancy flying!

What makes multiplayer different? Well, you are playing against real people ... not a computer flown ship that does predictable things.

Over to somebody else ...

1) take the same 6 sort of missions.
o Destroy Fighters
o Assasination
o Destroy Base
o Destroy Cargo
o Steal Cargo
o Capture Pilot
2) go mining
3) Take trade routes
4) Fly around and blow up pirates.
5) Go exploring for wreaks and new places

Those things do get kind of boring after a few hours of doing each one though.
Are there any mods that add any more cool stuff into the game?

hmmm well i believe there's a mod that makes it possible to deal in stocks lol, but i dont think there's much more then that in mods, just totaly new worlds and ships etc. though multiplayer is the thing that keeps me playing, killing other players. there are some servers where there's some kind of roleplay with pirates, hunters and rogues

Play it like a strategy game building your reputation with differing factions. Try all the mods. Explore systems way outside of the trade lanes, you'll never know what you'll find. (use the map's "patrol route" and check all three types, friendly, neutral, and hostile. The expand when you hit waypoints and bring you to places and stations and jump holes that you didn't know existed. Get a freighter and try making through hostile territory. Run Cardamime and ditch the police when they scan your cargo bay.
I could go on, the game is all up to your imagination. Every game will eventually get to the point where you've "seen it all", but there's a long way to go with this one before you get there.
Mod suggestions: Tie Universe, TNG, WTS Worlds (multiplayer only), Rebalance Mod, Massive Mod, All Good Things. Check our downloads section on the front page and set it to show "type" of file, you'll find the mods. If you need help with any, or how to install them, go to the "Using Mods Help forum" or the "Mod Announcement forum". The mods will increase your playablility interest, add new ships, worlds, make ships faster, and increase the difficulty of the game at times.
I always consider the end of the storyline missions the "beginning" of the game.

this is a very good question, when i read this i thought about when i first found TLR.
You see, after singleplayer, there is alot more you can do.
Well, thats what they said before the MODs came for FreeLancer.
MODs are actually the only things that keep me from throwing my copy of FreeLancer
out. MODs are'nt always cheats, some are only extras for the game, maybe that add systems factions ships sheilds weapons etc..........
this question is asked in almost every game (except tetris )

JJ, that's a massive request, and would mean that one would have to create animations and additional artwork for the game. Basically, don't expect anyone to take on a project like that, even if they could do it.
The only time I even play FL now is to check out a new mod, or help Reynen with the TNG testing. All games have their limits, just that FL has a much more open ended structure and leaves the gameplay after the storyline up to the individual player. Think of how many games have their storyline missions, and when they're done, you're done. This is what they were avoiding and was Chris Roberts original idea in the development of the game. But, alas, even FL can get redundant after a whole hell of a lot of hours (assuming you've really tried to explore, trade, take missions, change factions etc). It took a very long time for me to get to the point in the unmodded game to feel "I'd seen it all". Thank God for the Mod Makers and their hard work to keep the game fresh.

There are skins they let you change your character's clothes. And mods that let you buy all sorts of new ships. But playing poker??? That would be another game!

Hi everyone, im a noob lurker.

Something has popped up in this thread that I have thought about asking before but never got around to it....

Boscoe Wrote - " (use the map's "patrol route" and check all three types, friendly, neutral, and hostile. "

In multiplayer, i have never seen a Patrol Path that doesnt appear as 'Nuetral' on the Nav Map. It doesnt matter which factions like or hate me, ive never seen a green or red patrol path in Multiplayer... ever. I do see the red and green patrol paths in Single Player though.

Is this normal, or is my Freelancer a bit screwed

Thanks!
SirPless.

SirPless, you're set up is fine. All patrol routes in multiplayer are neutral. Only single player has the three options. Not sure why, but I guess since you have allegiences with other players as well as NPC's it's just in white for Multi.

BTW, Welcome to TLR!!!

Well, I didn't say you weren't going insane, just that you have Freelancer set up correctly on your system (j/k)
