New to FL, loving it... a few questions

1) Anyone have any favorite custom control configs they've worked out? The defaults are a bit awkward...

2) I've beaten the single-player mission-mode (in a rush) and am now exploring for pleasure (wow, lots to see!). I'm at level 33, and it says my next lvl requirement is "Mission" (I've completed 60). Is this a SPECIFIC mission, or just a total number I need to reach?

3) I haven't tried the Multiplayer yet - can I "port" my current single-player character (with ship, cash, levels, equipment, etc.) into multiplayer? If so, how?

Thanks!

1) actually, no, ive never tried.

2) Thats a glitch, just get more cash, or it may be your max level... or restart the game

3) yes, and no. Youd have to find a sympathetic admin on one of the servers to which you submit your ship specs, and then he punches that into Ioncross. most servers dont have any sort of system because normal players would complain that one player is being favoured.

Hope that helps

I figured we'd be getting a lot of new folks post Christmas, since Microsoft has cut the price of FL way down and was pushing it. So welcome all of you brand new Trents.

Don't forget the "search forum" option. And also note that there are other forums for FL too, including one on spoliers, mods, multiplayer etc. There's a lot to do with this game!

I use the keyboard number pad for flight controls.

0/ins-fire torps
1-fires missile
3-mines
2-reverse thrust
4-shield bat
6-nano bots
5-engine kill
7-left strafe
9-right strafe
8-thrusters
/-crusie engines
*-dock
./del-tractor
- is mouse flight

this combo works for me. hope it helps.

lol you cant cover that well on one hand static.
mine is:
engine kill - X
reverse thrust - C
strafe left - G
strafe right - H
wasp/torp - J
missile - K
mines - M
batteries - R
nanobots - T
mouse flight - L
turret mode - ;
free flight - V
tractor - B
next target enemy - U
nearest enemy - Y
thrusters - Space
accel/decel - mouse wheel

my fingers are on (starting with thumb)
1 - Space
2 - J
3 - H
4 - G
5 - C

the other keys are ofcourse pressed by the finger that's most near, except for my thumb it's ALWAYS on the thruster key
