This is stupid....

So... I finished the story a couple of days ago and i decided to get the coolest stuff in the game. So i did. I bought the titan and the sunslayer torpedo and the shield and the whatever. I looted all the wrecks and got the best weapons. Then an idea started to form in my head. I hated seeing the stupid battleships killed = 2 in my stats screen, so i went to the nearest battleship to blow it up. So i fired 6 torpedos at it... layed into it with all my weapons... killed its nearly constant stream of support fighters. and nothing. so i sit here with the entire galaxy hating me cause i just decided to kill everything i saw in a firey rage after the failure to blow up the battleship. So i pose a question to you people. WTF is there to do after you finish. You cant kill everything cause some things cant be destroyed (cursed battleship). you cant keep finding cool new stuff (cause there is nothing else). and i am way too lazy to get the 2 million creds i needed to buy all this cool stuff again in multiplayer. So what the hell?

Mods, my friend. You need to download yourself some mods. I recommend Evolutions, TIE Universe and Warriors of the Sky.

simple, get rid of the cool stuff!

i'm in a dagger with max class four weps n' sheild. 7 hammerheads had me pinned down on freeport 10 recently and i never had so mush fun as tryin' to get out. had to use the freeport as to cover 'cause may shields could'nt take the beating.

never go for the best ship, best weapons, etc. start out after the game in a startracker or rhino from manhattan and trade to your hearts content... then go find the corsair home world and do missions for a 1/4 of a million at a time in a maxed out dragon... excellent fun...

Freelancer, like any other game, will eventually get to the point where you've "been there, done that" enough that the game gets stale. Fortunately, with the various roles, the hidden objects, the alliances and reputation changes, and differing ways to make money, the game can last quite a long time. This is why the storyline is in many ways the beginning of the game. But, again, even FL has its limits without modifications.
As people have mentioned, there are ways to refresh the game, multiplayer games, many great mods, clans to join, etc. If it weren't for the mods and helping test them, the game would be gathering dust on the shelf for a long time now. Try something new, maybe you'll enjoy the new challenge.

well, i had been modding before i did the story cuz i couldnt find where the savegames were and had to wipe my comp a few times (i beat the game in a modded ship, Kitihawk's Shroud)
then, i ran out of things to do. what i suggest is looking for something to inspire you to make a mod (preferably a ship mod, we never get tired of those) and keep at it. ( would have kept at my attempt to make a kusari destroyer mod if Chips hadnt done it before i did.) or, do what i do now and try to make sense of the stuff u get when u crack open the .exe file by making it a .txt file

pain and misery, but still worthwhile

Ok, so i have taken your advice... and being the big noobie that i am i decide to download BATTLESHIP ENCOUNTER ADVANCED MOD!!!!!!!!11111oneoneone. Just cause i wanna kill battleships. So i also get the mod manager and install it. So i start playing and i head into a house system and the game crashes. ****. So i go rtfm and im still confused as hell as to what im doing wrong. help please? maybe i shouldnt start with a saved game?

Also, don't play it to death. Take some time away every now and then, much around with other games, then come back. It's like playing for the first time all over again.

Someone should mod all the Starlancer stuff, because that would be cool and relevant to the story.

About the Battleship-not-dying problem, it's probably because most things in-game (planets, stations, dockable battle stations, etc.) can't be destroyed with out the Destructible Universe Mod (Moderator, link that for me? plz?) Also, if this is another mod recommendations thread, I'm all ears since I have no fav mod.
