No it doesn't. He's put the ship display over the weapons display.

There might be a way to do that, I wouldn't know, but I don't see how it could help you. Showing weapon stats is far more useful than seeing what ship they're in

i dont find weapon stats that useful, maybe ammo count, but thats all i just keep count in my mind how many missles, and i dont use cruse disrupters that much.
and if i have the display like that, i automatically know...
How many enemy ships are left (left)
and The status of the ship selected (right) and i can also quickly select a sub-target.

Why would you want to select a sub target? There was a discussion about this a while ago, and I think we came to the conclusion that selecting a sub target doesn't actually cause you to shoot at it. Plus you wouldn't know which weapons you had activated, and once you got into a fight it would be too late to change it.

I never have my weapon list up. I make my groupings and keep them that way. In fact, I normally put all my display windows away (Backspace) while I'm dogfighting. Not all of us need to view our weapon displays. It just gets in the way.

i could of swore they changed a little bit, its very hard to notice though, at least it would be good to know the condition of parts in a ship and i never really change what gets fired in game, i unbound all of the number keys and i just use q, e, c and MMB for fireing non-energy weapons.
i dunno, i would find it easer to work like this.

Post Mon Oct 18, 2004 2:45 pm

why? I thought the controls are way too simple as it is... Ever play X-Wing? Energy management system nearly drove me insane.

i found that disableing weapons were pretty much useless, if i was low on energy, i would simply stop shooting until things cooled down. and if i needed to that bad i could do it with the mouse

back on topic anyone? know any way i can "change the hud around"?

Well, there is a legemate purpose for selecting subtargets. Targeting a guy's engine section by using those little red crosshair thingys on the subtarget panel is gonna leave him dead in space. You can target a wing and take out a few guns, or target the specific hardpoints and destroy his shield generator, or guns or thruster, or on and on.

You should be able to know what weapons you have. And as far as ammo count, it isn't extremely important.

Darkstone, the right HUD window shows the weapons you have, not the weapons the enemy has.

BTW, targetting specific areas of the ship actually does make you shoot more towards that area. It's alot easier to shoot the wings off of a nanobot using player that way.

What IBT suggested if a pretty cool idea but i don't think you can change it.

Teh best way to disable or enable weapons without groupings in Shift-#. # is the number of the weapon. On a fully loaded out VHF, cm would be shift-10.

strafe! the three VHF's are equal in strength
