Single Player Level effects and limits?

I have two basic questions regarding the single player home game.

(1) Is there a maximun level that cannot be passed? I am at Level 38 (completed the required missions eliminating the Nomads in the first 9 hours of play) and my personal info indicator says "Max Level". Is Level 38 as high as you can go in single player mode?

(2) Are there any other effects of Level aside from limiting what ships and weapons a player can purchase/own? Does level affect player interactions in any way, etc.?

Welcome to TLR.

1. yes, 38 is the limit unless you use a mod.

2. Interaction to other players or in story char.?

Thanks for the info on the max level. I wondered since I kept seeing othe rposts at various levels saying they couldn't progress for whatever reason.

As for question 2, I meant interact with the non-player factions, governments in the single player game. Does my higher level make me more or less "favored" in the single player game? I have other questions in the multiplayer forum.

Your second question is close to a spoiler, but, Level has nothing to do with "frienlyness, But running missions in freelance mode and killing their enemys. If you are good friends with Liberty police, you will not be with rouges. Ect.

Being a high level gives you the ability to buy higher level equipment. That's all. You won't be more respected or anything - level 1 pilots will still happily take you on at level 38 if you're hostile to them.

Actually it's been my exprience that the higher you are (or maybe the ship you're in, or number of kills), the more hostile AI stays AWAY from you.

I'm flying around the Omicrons in my Hammerhead lately, killing left and right, and solitary Titans run from me. It's a nice feeling.

I've never seen that. I've only ever seen hostile enemies just come at me relentlessly.
