I played it orignaly, because I liked the demo. After I finished it the first time I put it away, like many other games i've finished. Then while surfing to seeif there was any new games comining out soon. I got to this site noticed that Freelancer was thriving on this site. The rest as they say is history. I have been playing with renued viggor ever sence. For most of this year anyway. Moding was what did it for me. The sheer amount of different mods are stagering. Now I probably repaded the storyline 15-20 times, still like it because of the way you can change it. I guess the bottom line is I like FL and its fun to play....

Having fun playing Freelancer.....................AZAR

I play it becuz i really enjoy the game... I've always liked space sims and flight sims in general. You have so much freedom and space to explore in Freelancer. Even tho it is not a new game i still think the graphics are really good and i love just flying throo different places enjoying all the beautiful graphics of different environments. The storyline in single player makes it more involving too and makes me want to keep playing becuz i want to see what will happen next. Also all the combat blowing away enemies is a lot of fun too. I love this game.

I waited my whole gaming life (about 19 or 20 years now) for one such as Freelancer where it is entirely open ended. Go wherever, do whatever. The only other games that came close were GTA and that old game that Im sure some of you remember, Pirates. That was back in the days of the Commodore64 and the AppleII. Plus, this one is a space sim, which I also love. So Freelancer is just the perfect game to me; Im sure 10 years from now I'll still play it from time to time.

I play FL because it is always different. Just because you pickup weapon x in this mission this time, doesn't mean it'll happen twice. Plus there's the added bonus that with all the mods, just adding 1 or 2 new ships or weapons or bases etc.... can open up whole new dimentions to the game. There are whole regions of the game I haven't seen in a year(literaly) and if I get bored with my usual routine I just do something different like take another route or play with a different ship, and that is all SP. Now I'm looking at starting to play on a server once I decide what mod I'll play, and that'll be another year or 2 before that gets old. In short I have never found another game computer based or otherwise this versitle other than D&D and even that has it's limits

The best reason yet is that we don't have to pay some gay monthly fee to play MP

I play Freelancer because it is better than any alternative.
Well, technically speaking, X2- The Threat is superior in every way... except the controls. Freelancer has the best controls of any game I have ever played. I tried X2-The Threat, and, much as I love playing a game at 1 frame per second, whose controls make the game almost totally unplayable, I'd rather play Freelancer. EVE Online would be nice, but I think any sane person would object to paying £10 a month. It's not that I couldn't afford it, but it's the principle that counts.

Because the game world is so massive. Just when you think you've seen it all you find something new
