Nomad shipyard mission

The last 2 times I've played the Von Claussen mission where you try to blow up
the secret Rhineland/Nomad shipyard , both Von Claussen and Botzler stay in the
radioactive minefield and don't come out.

On some prior occasions, I've failed the mission , and I've succeeded as well.
However , I've never had the problem where VonClaussen and Botzler simply stay
in the minefield before.

I've played all through the SP missions (and beyond) before this several times.
I removed all my save games to install the newest FLMM and some new mods and began from the start a couple weeks ago.
Mods Currently Activated: (SP Only)
Nearly Invulnerable Shield mod (Uber shield)
Speed mod
Silver Fire's Weapon pack v1.3
Falcon Start

Any ideas? Are there any "tricks to this mission?
Thanks Very Much,
Katoc

You need the spoiler forum for this question.

Most likely the speed mod combined with the ubershield. I guess you whizz through and therefore any timers are cocked up, and so this happens. It has happened to me when you kill something too quick the trigger is missed, and therefore you cannot progress. Lose the speed mod.

p.s - whats the point in playing SP when you cannot die (aka having the ubershield mod). there is no challenge, no thrill - no nothing..........pointless.

Yes, but if u want to keep and fight the nomands in a freighter and not a fighter for fun, then the uber sheild comes in useful

yes it would come in handy but the speed mod wich things do you use.
double trhuster speed
cruise speed: 600
1200
3000 ????????????????????/

Drop the ubershield: the game isn't that hard, but, if you're still having trouble, got to: My Documents/My Games/Freelancer/ PerfOptions.ini and set DIFFICULTY_SCALE to 0.00. You will then be invunerable.

I've used uber shield and speed mod in this mission before now and succeeded ,
but I'm going to try this tonite with the speed mod deactivated. I normally set
the speed mod for the middle setting-1200 I think. The only new mod is the
Falcon Start.

I use the uber shield mainly to help (a little) in surviving radiation fields.
I know I'm cheating , but it lets me enjoy Freelancer more because I don't
have to worry about getting killed and repeatedly replaying some missions.
Sorry if I have offended anyone - I did play the Freelancer demo without any
mods for a while before I picked up the full game. I am a latecomer to FL ,
but its just an amazing and wonderfully addicting game.

I only recently learned about that other method of making yourself
invulnerable. I apologize for placing this thread incorrectly ; I should have
put this in the spoiler thread instead. Sorry!
I appreciate the quick and helpful replies -
Thank You Very Much,
katoc

shields don't affect radiation damage.

How do you destroy them all? You can only destroy one before a certain something happens that destroys them all. You'd have to work them all down before finally striking a deathblow to each one in a few miliseconds.

Hi all. I adjusted speed mod to normal cruise and succeeded in the mission.
Thanks Very Much for all the help
