What about SP games

I have been playing Freelancer for a while now and I think its a great game However at the risk of earning all your wrath I have to make one comment to the negative. Why is it that you guys that make up all these ships and systems etc always seem to forget about the SP story? Now I am totally in awe at your creativity I think you gotta be geniuses to do what you do. (I for example took a year just to find delete button on my keyboard) However every mod that comes out seems to be created around MP. eg: the fantastic ships. By the time Im elligible to purchase a really good ship either I have to be at a level where the story would be finished or I havn't got the funds because of the outrages prices.
Help me and everyone else who likes to play the story guys and give us some decent ships at realistic prices and realistic levels. cheers all.

Maybe this should be in the MODs forum...not that I really care though. You should try the Evolutions mod. I DL-ed it recently and have been playing it quite a lot in SP mode (it's tough to play MP with a 56k connection). The prices on the ships are fairly high (and the resale values are very low) but, as long as you don't mind taking your time between story missions, you should be able to buy some interesting ships. Also the increased upgradeability feature means that even if you don't have enough money for a new ship you can probable upgrade the old one enough that a new ship won't really be necessary

Most mods have been designed for SP since you need a server to host a mod otherwise its called cheating.

You can use OpenSP mod to remove the campaign from the game to make it easier.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I realize that most play MP and I respect that. I however aint that skilled yet so Im learning the easy way in SP story. I wasn't aware it was classed as cheating when the only person your playing is yourself however I will endeaver to keep myself on the straight and narrow in future. I have a DSL modem and could play in MP but to be honest I'd probably last about 30 secs and that would be how long it takes me to get off the planet - thanks again guys.

You can join a clan on MP, that should make your life easier.

They can help and support you while you play MP. Also, you can try and find a server that has no PvP in New York so that your protected from other players until you feel confident.
