Would someone please explain the refire rate

Not quite sure what the refire rate means.

some guns are 2.0
some are 8.33

which is faster and/or better?

it means how many shots it fires in a sec.....
2.00 means 2 shots a sec (they are powerful most of the time)
8.33 means 8 and bit shots fires a sec (need to be a good aimer to dish out a lot of pain with these)

You can load up some powerful slow firing guns and blast your enemies to bit ... provided you are a good enough shot to hit them! Otherwise, less powerful but fast firing guns might serve you better.

I once had a gun arrangement that was firing powerful enough shots to rip any ship apart in just a couple of hits. But I got tired of it after a while, since it was more like swinging an axe at somebody. It was fun for a while though.

Slower firing guns are usually more efficient so use less energy than a fast firing gun of the same damage. However you have to be a good shot to make it worth it
