Admit your Bloodhound addictions here!

Welcome to the first meeting of BANA - Bloodhound Addicts (Nearly) Anonymous. Please, open up, share your heart, and tell the story of how you succumbed to the call of the Bloodhound fighter. Don't be ashamed! We're all equals here.

Seriously though, does anyone fly this thing on something approaching a regular basis? I've tried it exactly twice - once online, once in my most recent run-through of the SP campaign. Both times I "downgraded" to a Patriot and it felt like a significant upgrade. I think the only decent thing that can be said about it is that it provides a cheap platform to mount class-4 weapons on. Anyway, discuss!

i've been playing freelancer for over a year now and i've never flown a bloodhound. It's quite an ugly ship imo and the class of weapons it can take aren't that great as well

don't say that. The bloodhound is a better ship than the defender. It is more maneuverable, and has more armor rating. If you are a good pilot, you can handle the firepower. it is not that bad. Actually it is the best ship that you can get to escape from liberty. This is because it is sold on Rochester, and because the Wolfhoound in California, or the dagger, in Buffalo, NY are in Rogue based factions and you can't get near them. I think I covered it.

ive flown it, it does fly well, and when combined with the Nouge Raphael and Drail cannons, it makes for an effective all-round pirating ship..
The only thing that put me off was the purple running lights.

Oh yeah, I love bloodhounds, they're lots of fun! yeah, like when I'm flying through a whole squad of them and shredding them apart like tissue paper.

Generally, the bloodhound is quite slow to turn for a light fighter, and the rogues don't really fly evasively enough in them. The only addiction I have for bloodhounds is in attacking waves of them in one of those high paying (for new york) search and destroy missions.

The Wolfhound, that ship is a good keeper.

Ugly? This may sound weird but I think the Pirate ships look awesome! I havn't actually flown a bloodhound (tho i did fly a wolfhound temporarily) but i have flown the Mule which is my fav. smuggler ship in terms of looking über cool. of course it sucks compared to humpback and dromedary but the pirate class look so awesome! the rusty look and if u look closely, the all have a sort of furutristic orange skull and crossbones on the front sides . as for actually using them, hardly ever but yeah. i once had a dream in FL (yeah i kno, ive played it too much) where a transport in a dark system got attacked by these weird looking wolfhounds and then when it had been blown up and the cargo was everywhere a swarm of mules came and beamed it up and the mysterious pirate squadron moved off. lol im not crazy

We must carry the war into every corner the enemy happens to carry it: to his home, to his centers of entertainment; a total war. It is necessary to prevent him from having a moment of peace, a quiet moment outside his barracks or even inside; we must attack him wherever he may be, make him feel like a cornered beast wherever he may move. - Ernesto Che Guevara

Why does the guerrilla fighter fight? We must come to the inevitable conclusion that the guerrilla fighter is a social reformer, that he takes up arms responding to the angry protest of the people against their oppressors, and that he fights in order to change the social system that keeps all his unarmed brothers in ignominy and misery. - Ernesto Che Guevara

^That my friend is a huge sig

I like the Bloodhound and Wolfhound but would NEVER choose them out of a better line up coughDaggercoughDrakecough

The bloodhound is a decent ship compared to other ships in it's class such as the startracker and piranha. But the dagger has more weapon mounts and looks cool too.

I loves me Bloodhound. Decked out with Barragers and a good shield, higher armor than most starting ships, and moderately excellent handling make it a pretty good early ship. Not to mention that disrupting a tradelane and ripping apart some early MP trader's Rhino in a BH just drips with style.

I don't know about the Bloodhound but I do like the Mule. I modded it a little of course....

the dagger is easy to get at the start of the game all you have to do is attack navy ships until you are nertral with the rogues so they let u land on buffalo base,
buy the dagger then shoot the bases and say "you losers are soooooooo stupid"

it works for my

I like the looks of the Mule. It has that cobbled together pirate ship look that no other ship quite manages to get. The Wolfhound and Bloodhound have a nice pirate look, but not quite as trashily good as the Mule.
