please help me, this is a big one!

look, i have been modding alot with my game, different mods like adding ships and editing other things is mostly what i have used, and IONCROSS mk lll for my server.
after i had played for about 2 months i was docking on "manhattan" and went to the ship dealer, and guess what?
the game crashed.
After that i couldn't get to any shipdealers apart from pittsburgh, which worked ramdomly (not always)
After a while of no ship dealers i couldn't dock some planets, and bases.
i started getting annoyed so i reinstalled Freelancer on my PC.
Now it says "cannot locate CD-Rom"
I tried installing it on another computer, it should have worked but still
"cannot locate CD-Rom"
I have now reinstalled it about 10 times, guess if it works?
nope...
well, for your information: when i put freelancer on the starting up picture looks black in the background, and has white text that says "Freelancer", kind of reminds of the matrix.
anyone have an idea???
please help me. thx, Shadow(/)

Try the reinstall again, but first do a un-install first, then open mycomputer/programs/microsoftgames/Freelancer and delete the whole file, then try reinstall. Make sure you use the same drive to install, that you use to play the game. Had the problem once, and this fixed it. Install just the game and try it before installing anything else.

You cannot WRITE to the CD at all, even with a CD burner, as its NOT writable. Therefore, for any file to have "gotten onto the CD" means................

It means that Shadow 505 is a software pirate and one of the reasons that we may never see a Freelancer 2.

Dude if it says "cannot locate CD-Rom" you need to get a game refurbisher (at gamestop, funcoland, software etc.) to clean it, and if it still dont locate, you need to buy ANOTHER FREELANCER. I am on my 3rd freelancer myself for the same reason. I went through the same problems, and i found out that it was the CD AND THE LENS that reads the cds, i took a Q-tip and some alchohol, took out the cd drive, then dipped the Q-Tip in the alchohol and wiped the Q-tip on the lens. I then took a very soft fabric, (DO NOT USE TOILET PAPER), to wipe it off, and now it works perfectly. Believe me i had the same exact problems with the game. Im glad i could help.

Telling me what to do are we? its called our DISCRETION - but i obviously give you far to much credit by assuming that you could have ever grasped this concept.

Instead, i see a crowing post of self importance, which is derogatory to yourself.

This thread was dying nicely until you continued to post in it for whatever purposes. The issue was solved, so it should have died (it really was on its way down there!). However, instead your keeping it alive for no reason really - especially given that last post.

*shakes head*
