what are you talking about

Post Fri May 28, 2004 8:36 pm

What Stinger is trying to say, is how do you think your computer getting hacked increases any risk to our forums? Hackers are constantly scanning for vulnerabilities on peoples PC's, on average I get 5-6 hack attempts a month on my machine. It's not anything new.

EDIT: and another thing, did you specifically join up just to post this thread?

If it hadn't been for the Lane Hackers, Juni and Trented might have been wasted early on ...

Although I think the Lane Hackers are total cr*p. They talk about using their advanced technology to hack the trade lanes, but how much expertise do you need to shoot the thing? Although, most groups still feel an urge to shoot at the middle of the thing instead of the rings themselves. Not the brightest criminals in Sirrius. And you probably got hacked by someone else not related at all to LR. Dish out the $12 and buy Nortan Anitvirus and but up a firewall, no biggie. --- VH16

Whoever came up with "Mission Commision" should be lined up and shot

Could have been a cat hacked a hairball onto his 'puter.

their are a few programs with will detect hackers, but they are mostly maded also by hackers to log onto comps faster...

i had a 1 off them, when i was on i had that also on, 1 time i had the host off that program on the comp... i was sure about that, co'z it said also when the host was their, and the internet was a lot slower (by then we had by phone, now i have cable). i de-activated the program and the internet speed was 2x, maybe 3x as fast as a minit theirfor, that way i kicked the host off that program off my line...

so be sure what you download from internet... and know all locations off your own computer, even the secure documents in the profile ID off your own on windows-XP. co'z i deleted from their a trojan virus, while my virus scanner couldn't delete it from their.

from teir i look also into secured area's, even know off the "local settings" directory in the profile??? in their are the directories; "hostory", "temp" and "temp internet files".

if he knew he may put an extra file into their for easier log into your comp... so if you be sure to make it him as div as possible to log on again (so he is not sure anymore when you are on-line), delete all in their, the most file in it isn't important, the temp int files are only cookies.

don't ask how i know that much about it, co'z just as i said, i had a trojan in their, and now i have a shortcut to that area... so i can easy delete in their. maybe i can hack into someones comp with what i know, but i don't wanna try, so don't be worry about me.

maybe also an idea to trace him, on internet are much pages where you can trace him to his IP, you can even know what provider he use... i have on my e-mail something about that, but didn't needed it yet .

Norton firewall is great for detecting hackers. It tells me everytime someone tries and will even trace back to the area. However the guy who started this thread, isn't who he apperas to be. Fake e-mail and all.

Well, you always do some packet filtering to detect hackers Final. That's always fun .

you can never know... somtimes it is with the site you was on, sometimes it's not...

it can also be a point where your also on when on this site.

i had when looking on the nasa site that i was linked from holland to asia before to usa, this way it can be that their was a hacker with logged into my computer rom the asia point, or inmediate or just by the nasa-site...

their are easy ways to trace him back if you know a little off him, ie. fake IP, fake e-mail and such doesn't matter for the better trace-pages.

- edit;
microsoft has a building where only hackes work for breaking codes off their own program...

their are also hackers with will leave a message behind, some did a lot off messages on some important companies, they helped them with improving the securety on their computers from outside... i'm sure that also the best programs against hackers are made by hackers, co'z hackers are perfect programmers, and know how to trace and get rid off hackers on their own computers...

their are also easier ways to get rid off them, don't use any savety on your computer and the hacker is not interested, co'z their is nothing to security where they may break throught.
