Yep, I always prefer cutscenes and movies to have subtitles. Freelancer doesn't have any though.

The problem is that when it's midnight and everybody else is sleeping, i would also like not to have to get the volume +15dBa just to hear a few dialogues and back down not to wake everybody. I also have earphones but they hurt my ears in the long run. Yes they are good ones at 150$USD but every earphone i try hurt me so i use speakers when i can.

Why don't you just set the music and effects sounds lower so you can hear the dialog? I personally turned the music all the way down so I wouldn't have to hear the same thing over and over again. It brings out the effects more and makes combat more immersive.

It's not the same music over and over again if you move around a lot. I like Freelancer's music, especially ones like Dangerous Chase or the race theme. Hmmmmm . . . But you only hear those during the story mode.

If you go into the FL folder, open "data" then "sounds," you can find all the music in the game and play it on media player (there may be more folders and stuff to look though, I don't have FL on this computer so I can't look). Dangerous chase is cool, and the race one is tight. I also like some of the nomad layer music. Check it out sometime. --- VH16

My speakers are Kilpsh and they are not even shottable to hell. This is a high end system because i'm crazy about audio stuff. No, the problem is not that i'm deaf either. English is my 2nd language (making it a little tougher to understand right away) and i like to ear every detail about conversations. Of course i can always make out what they try to say. I can fill the voids, like when Tobias whisper in Trent's ear. But like i said, i don't want to play with the system at 100dB to make sure i ear all. I'll try to lower music and effects to see if i can hear all.
