it was a pvp!

and i used 3 weapons Adv Stunpulse to bring the shield down and 2 slingshots

the guy was not a grate pilot, he turns slow and his weapons where slow(diamont and wildfire) so i could keep his back but even if i bring the shield down slowly with the weapons the titan still have 12000 of hull so i had to change tatic and hit him fast in the front and do no get hit by his guns

after 30 slingshots his ship was on fire and i killed him!

it was pretty hard...

@chucruts, you inspried me to have a go, i ambused this guy in a titan going through a trade lane in new london. I was smashed. Might have been the wepons i was carrying but iam not going to blame them, iam gonna practise until i beat someone in a titan with my trusty dagger.

Hmmm I think I can already see where the guy's (with the titan) problem is at.

When fighting against a small quick target, don't resort to big guns. Anything with fast reload, and high speed does a lot better. Preferably a laser or photon based weapon. They don't need high dps, they just have to be precise.

So yeah... still think it's impossible to beat titan if the guy in it knows what he's doing. Like said park the titan and go to turret view assign turn left/right to keyboard so you can just rotate like a weapon platform.

@macaan, what weaps did u use???

i did also vhf-killing in my dagger, against some i lossed, against some i won...

i used this setup (also in 245k missions);
- adv. stunpulse
- slingshot missile launcher
- sweeper missile launcher (maybe better to change this into dragoon type 1 killing npc-players)
- dragoon type 1
- pyros type 1 turret
- hornet cruise

- ripper mine
- adv. countermeasure

i'm thinking off dumping the latest 2, for having a little better agility and lesser things to care about... and i don't use them anyway

I used...
Advance stun pulse
two slingshot misslies
Advance counter.m
hornet cruise missiles
And for some reason a justice turret just because i didnt have enthough money to get something better, I wasent that well off, i saw my target and just went for it before it got away.
iam gonna try your wepons and do it again tomoro

"So yeah... still think it's impossible to beat titan if the guy in it knows what he's doing. Like said park the titan and go to turret view assign turn left/right to keyboard so you can just rotate like a weapon platform."

if the titan do it, it is a easy target if the titan is moving it is harder to atack and gives time to the shield reload

The Dagger is a highly capable LF given its stats. One of the better LFs on offer in Sirius today. I'm not surprised anyone has taken out a Titan in a Dagger. If you'd said Hammerhead I'd have been surprised :p
It very much depends on pilot skill in such a battle. If both pilots are equally matched, it is more likely the Titan will win, for sure, but if the LF pilot is quick on his feet, or rather, his thrusters, and perhaps comes up with a half-workable strategy, it's entirely possible.

Yeah, basically you have to know the strngths and weaknesses of your ship. It's like in the old ways of war: Infantry beats cavalry, which beats artillery, which beats infantry.

the same is with spaceships...

fighters -> bombers -> batteships -> flak ships -> fighters

@Visconti

If you want a weapons platform, grab a Rheinland Humpback. Tons of firepower, good strong hull, some good shields and lots of cargo space. Don't forget about optimum weap class if you want to fire away though.

Post Wed Mar 24, 2004 10:30 am

@macaan, i killed also daggers with in 1 head-on...

the slingshot missile will destroy their total hull, also when he had 100% off his hull and no shield (co'z that was shot down by the sweeper missile).

i knew also some1 who used 2 slingshot missile launchers and 2 sweeper missile launchers and a pyros type 2 turret, that is a powerfull combo, but cost lots off missiles and is maybe at some places overkill...

Hmm also try that skyblast type-b excellent weapon, better than the nomand guns imo. With that kind of reload and proj velocity, dagger shouldn't last very long. I was hinting at this @ an earlier post too.

@Deathbringer yeah I don't like that ship though, coz of the look. ^0^ vanity vanity...

Post Thu Mar 25, 2004 8:46 am

@vis, the gmg-blasters are indeed powerfull... and yes, their better then the nomad weaps, co'z they have the highest firerate off all class 9 guns, while being also 1 off the powerfulliest... some does like slow firerate weaps on his titan/sabre/eagle, while this weap is the best weap to use on thus ships... co'z they have then a mega-burst off flak, and with use off 1 tizona del kid, 1 cannonball launcher and 1 neutralizer (paralyzer if possible) launcher.

this outload does a powerfull damage to the enemy, and can kill an eagle in 1 head-on round...

I think that as long as you know your ship, you can take on anyone. For example I have destroyed a titan in a valkyre before now, just by setting up my weaps right , and knowing the manouvrebility of my ship (against that of the titan)
