Okay, their year is what, 875 A.S.? It's around there. Thiking that that was the 23rd Century when the migration took place the year would be about 3075 A.D. or sometime around there.

what does A.S. stand for? and the year would be 1675 A.S. because the sleepers left around 2200= 23rd century, so 800 years to get there, 3000= 31st century then if they have gone through 875 years. it is 1675 A.S.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Notice some of the news items on the TV monitors on bases and planets. They'll have dates refering to things. Also, you'll find that some shipwrecks have been lost a long time. I remember one that was lost in 521 AS! The cargo must qualify as valuable antiques.

There is actually no mention of what year it is in the game, so it is assumed that the year is 800.AS* (it could be anywhere from 795.AS to 800.AS...trying to work it out with ingame rumours gave me a headache!).

Since there is also no exact date of when the sleeper ships left Pluto, or how long the sleepers ships took to reach Sirius, the actual year in AD is also unknown.

*AS either means After Sirius, or After Sleeper...

As I recall, you are told that the battleship Mississippi will be decommissioned in 805 AS and turned into a space museum, so it has to be a few years before that. (Think I got the year right.)

It's 800 A.S. guys. It says this during the SP Story line. Thoguh by the end of it, it's 801 A.S.
Now nobody knows the exact date in A.D. Because the Sirius sector isn't that big. It's much smaller. Sirius A and Sirius B could not possibly be on here, as the Crow Nebula is hundreds of thouands of lgiht years away from earth. The green nebula is also a real nebula but is even furthur away. I think they went waaaay past Sirius and ended up in a another galaxy.

Yeah, but we could nit-pick the whole game. Think of the inertia problems, scale problems, etc...

There was a thread concerning just that here, about all the things that don't make sense in Freelancer. Some of it was quite interesting but it more or less died when people realised that a game doesn't have to make sense, but instead just be good fun

Thank the gods for that. I couldn't remember the date given in the logs (dead computer, unable to play on this 400Mhz relic you understand), but I could remember the intro saying 'that was 800 years ago', so made an educated guess :S

The year 3000 ? Futurama. =D I wonder where all those robot floozies are .....
Anyways. Aren't Sirius A and Sirius B 2 stars ? I just think it was called the Sirius sector because they don't have enough names for all the points in space. =S
And. assuming it's the year 801. The average outcast age is 124. So about (801/124 = 6.45) 6 generations of Outcasts have survived. Why don't you ask them how long there timeline goes back ?
