Ya, what he said. "Let Juni wait." The Single player game is designed to give you just enough cash to continue on. Sometimes it's barely enough. When she calls for your aid, or to meet you somewhere, take your time. Grab a few more missions. Better yet, grab a freighter and do some trade runs then buy fighter and go see her with your pockets full of gold. They say size doesn't matter, but we all know Juni would prefer your wallet to be bulging at the seams. Just avoid the places she wants to meet you until your comfortable with the amount of money you have.

I know I'm mad late, but this is what I did to start out:
I finished escorting the convoy and I bought a shield buster for the third hardpoint on pitssburgh and set out to finish the mission. The I took missions on pitssburgh and got enough for a rhino. I loaded it out whith 2 shield busters and kept turning them on and off in order to not waste energy after I was done with the NPC shields. The five justice turrets would take out the NPC in about 5 secs when he was comming head on after he turned. I got money real easy and new zaphiel turrets that I tractored in.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

heh.
I thought I had left this thread to die, but since it got back up I'll post again.

I've now finished the SP and I have been flying around with everyone on neutral so that I can search through as much as possible of the universe.
I've actually gone from level 20-something to level 30-something without doing a single mission.
I haven't understood why but apparently every time you find some lvl 10 guns you almost automatically level up...

My ships through the story was
Starflier-Defender-Crusader-Drake-Anubis for about 2 seconds-Drake
and I'm a bit tired of looking at the back of the Drake now. And it has a lot of problems with the radiation in some areas so I'm thinking about buying a heavy fighter with as much manouverability as possible to survive. I also want to try all those hefty guns I've picked up.

Later on I will most likely go back to the Drake cause I really love the looks and the feel of that ship. On the other hand, I haven't tried many of the HF and VHF so I might change my mind...

It's all to do with value, at level 37 a class 10 gun wont level you

In some of the Border Worlds, the radiation will actually eat you up in a few minutes -- unless you have plenty of repair bots. That's why the heavy fighters are so useful out there. But I too have a fondness for the Drake. It handles so well -- and taking out the big guys with a smaller ship mounting lighter guns is good fun. But a Drake isn't so much fun if you are watching your hull melting all around you.
