Problem ...

I am having a problem getting the Strafe Left & Right or shutting off the engines ( Z ) to work. I have not mapped the default keys to anything else, so it's "A", "D" or "Z" for me and they don't seem to work. I am sure I am doing something wrong but can't figure out what.

Desperate ...

Try going back through the mapping process, and remap them to those letters and see if it corrects itself.

if you are using "Go to" or "Dock" thiese won't work! Try going in "Free Flight" and it should...

Actually in goto command it does work. only when you're lining up for docking all you're flight controls are disabled.

ok, so, this might sound silly, but do you have the highest detail when you play? I 'm asking this because when you turn down the detail just a notch (in the options screen) the vaportrail won't show, aswell as the tiny dust-particles floating around are gone. These make it easier for you to see when you're strafing.
