Trade lane speed?

What speed do you go at while in a trade lane? Is it 1000? (My friend thinks it's faster than 1000 because once her speed indicator read '---', her ship seemed to continue accelerating.)

I think its 900, could be 1000 but it seems to stop at 900 when it hits the '---'

Actually, its a little below 3000. My clan's server supports cruise mods so we checked. One went into the lane, the other cruised at 3000 next to the lane. Roughly the same.

I'll like to learn how to mod Tradelane Speeds too

Yeah, it's 3000. In Evolutions, you can still see the Speedometer in the tradelane.
And no, Evolutions doesn't alter the speed.

I'm making record time!
If only I had someplace to be...

The speed indicated by Evolutions is just a text to make things a bit more flashy and doesn't have to be the actual speed.

And the acceleration stops when you pass the first tradelane ring after you enter the lane.

Edit: Damn spelling.

I believe its 3000. When you get the speed mod, travel through the trade lane rings without docking, and it will seem like going at trade lane speed.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

@BountyHunterJackson: It's 2500 m/s or meters per second (although if you read my forum topic "M=meters & K=kilometers" you'll find it's equal to 2500 metras/second. But it's really up to you

bah bah bah. The thing that tells you trade lane speed is defined in resources.dll file as '---' , where those three marks mean --- which is what you see in trade lane.

Mods put in a NUMERICAL VALUE at that point. So 2500 in a mod is just because they made that say 2500 instead of ----. If i put 0001 there, you would see that value in the tradelane instead - its got NOTHING to do with real speed when in mods, and everything to do with us modders thinking you will go "cool - they got that working"

My question is why do you care? Whats the point? Are you going to caculate something? Like how long each trade lane is in seconds from entry to exit? Are you going to start talking about tradelanes being in seconds not kilometers? Did you want to say "hey - i am going 8.87 times faster than you in cruise " or something? Its real value is very close to 2800 or so, just for all you who are posting what speed it is. How do i know? Cause i know............lol

Can you make it go faster? dunno - aint bothered looking to be honest, and certainly have no care to either
