To make a movie, we need the game engine, if you mean a movie with the same graphics as Freelancer of course... but do you mean a real movie? Well, i'll be Orillion. Let's get to those Anubises...

I can see it now...
Lucy Liu as Juno, John Rhys-Davies as Tobias (why not, he did the original voice anyway), but who would play Trent? The only person i can think of who looks like him is Ben Aphleck, and, lets be honest here, he sucks....

Mark Hamill as Trent?

LOL, didn't think so Patrik Stewart probably would make a good Quintaine

Let's get Mr Bean as Mission Commission.

ff should do it.
Anyway, I'd watch it, as long as they do it better than that silly Wing Commander movie. That was just stupid.

Edit: Damn spelling.

freelancer2003 what even made you think there was going to be a movie about freelancer????

Freelancer is more or less a movie anyway. the cut scenes that drive the plot use a lot of cinematic tricks and techniques.

example 1:

Before Trent and Juni escape Manhattan, they stop off at that research centre in the badlands. during the cut scene, the view shifts outside to an exterior of the station and the anomaly it studies, while a small meteoroid zooms past the camera at close range.

example 2:

That thief guy chucks his cigarete of the roof onto the Manhattan landing pad, and the camera tracks its fall in slow-mo while he walks away.

Example 3:

Moment of uncertainty during the face-off between Juni and that cop (slightly overplayed, but still, very cinematic)

Example 4:

line:
"Who just walks away with a liberty battleship?"
"I do"

Example 5:

using a news story to set the narrative background, and then cutting to the main character, who was a subject.

and so on. the game more or less is a movie in its own right, with chase sequences, dogfights, races, gunfights, technobabble and large ships and space stations exploding. besides which, the plot line is longer than your average movie by a very large margin.

A film would be cool, though. I vote Christopher Judge for Orillion and Halle Berry for Sinclair. Trent, however, is a puzzle.

what about Keannu Reaves? or Orlando Bloom? or Richard Dean Anderson. ( you know Jack O'Neil, from Stargate SG1)

If you get bored with this thread, look through the old ones. You'll find a looooooooooooong thread on who plays what. You're about 8 months late.
