Star Tracker????

Star Tracker????

WHy on earth is it built the way it is ? Bad manuverability, poor power planet, lack of guns , 17,000 price tag . The Patriot, Defender, Bloodhound all fly better and have more gun mounts. What should I change about it to make it have a chance in space yet deserve the same price tag?

it has more maunverability and armor than the Liberty heavy fighter if i remember correctly....

Cool, you quoted yourself

Anyway, the startracker is quite possibly the worst fighter in the game, I agree.
I got one advice, don't buy it.

Edit: Not sure about the stats compared to the Defender, but the defender can mount more guns and a turret and has higher class mounts, and very important, you can mount a torp . That's a few good reasons to choose a defender over a startracker imho. Still, the defender has a bad powerplant. But that can be resolved with one or two missiles

Edit: Damn spelling.

Plus, it's got those stupid little fins on the back. Patriots, defenders, and even starfliers look nicer. As many of you know, I'm big into the looks of a craft. I can't stand flying in a sh*ty looking bird, even if it's got the power of a titan. Then again, the Titan is a sh*ty looking bird. --- VH16

Looks don't matter, or so say ugly people

Do yo u think it would be fair if I made it so that it had an improved power plant, manuverability, and 3 class 4 mounts and charged 25,000 credits. Thanks for the replies

The Patriot has better guns and maneuverability for less than half the price. Kinda makes the Startracker useless. It might just be the only ship I haven't tried (well, unmodded anyways).

Post Mon Dec 22, 2003 9:27 am

Tlad, I think that would be fair
Anyway, the only thing the startracker has in favor is an increased cargohold and increased hull.

The star tracker is a civilian ship, and is agile. It's just not as good as the Patriot. With that little firepower, agility is all that counts. It's why the eagle and flacon are so good, but at the early stage of the game, it just can't beat the patriot, and most players go from patriot to defender to bretonian ship, never coming back for a star tracker (as they rightfully shouldn't). I don't think beefing up the star tracker is going to make any SP player diverge from the coarse described above. --- VH16

i only ever flew one once onelite in the early days ; i traded UP to a defender pdq
no redeeming features for that ship

You think so? I don't concider this a spoiler. No stats are mentionned and only comparisons are being made. But maybe to be safe it's best to move it.

They'd just find out anything we say from other parts of TLR. Put a disclaimer on the top "POSSIBLE SPOILER BELOW." Doubt it will do any good though. --- VH16

No, we just have to be more carefull with what we say.
Even when someone asks for a spoiler in the wrong forum, wich happens a couple of times each day, we shouldn't give away any spoilers. Just direct them to the proper section of the site.

This topic is basically not asking fo a spoiler, but the discussion wich it caused may contain spoilers. Therefore it might be best if it's moved and until it is, we should be carefull with what we say. Forumrules are more then webspacefilling you know
