All about what I have ''Discovered!'' About FL!

After I finished playing through the single player missions, I began my new career as a Liberty Rouge.

I have noticed that after completing several hundred missions for "my" faction that more and more Liberty Rouge ships and thier allies have shown up. I even get news mentions of current situations at rouge bases. Another point of notice is that the rouge npc's have just started wearing the cardamine gear on thier face more often now. I gave shipped cardamine to them on occassion.

I have been fighting against the Bounty Hunters Guild for some time now. Whenever I leave a base, the 'hunters' are outnumbered 10 to 1. When I first started out after finishing the story, the odds were reversed.

Has anyone else out there noticed any particular changes to the FL universe while playing?

I find this remarkable...I've played the game into the ground and I never had changes like this - I didn't think the AI was intelligent enough??

Are you sure you just never noticed these things before?

Post Tue Dec 09, 2003 3:36 pm

Nope, never seen that before...but I also havn't stayed with one faction for very long.

You actually get new news items? I thought that didn't happen.
Did you check if the tradelanes under construction are finished now?

Edit: Damn spelling.

Wow! This game is beter even than I thought! I too am not very loyal to one faction or another, but perhaps in the future I will be.

You say all you did was fly a bunch of missions for them and they became stronger in the system? Amazing...

I've gotta admit, I'm impressed by this. I thought I'd seen the lot in FL, but obviously I was wrong.

Spooky though...sounds like its gaining a consciousness

Ah yes. I always knew that Liberty was the prime manufacturer of beauty products in the Sirius sector.

discharger12, you say you want proof? Pick a faction (including navy, armed forces etc.) and make a rough note of how many of that faction are buzzing around the system you are in. fly around 30-50 or so missions. You will see some changes. We can actually influence this game if sticking to one side. Maybe in other ways as well. See for your self, you may be surprised

I also have just discovered something else. As I have said that a faction actually gets stronger from missions right? Well, when I am just flying around, not in a mission, If I see that one of my allies is attacked by enemies I help them out. When I looked at the players status menu, I noticed something cool. My faction was slowly raised above all other factions. Each time I destroyed more and more enemies of my faction they have risen in rank. There is a direct corelation between the ranking of factions in the player menu and the high number of my allies seen around a system.

I've been with corsairs for 7 months now and I've noticed similar changes. I mainly operate in Omicron Gamma near Crete and I'm seeing more bounty hunters as I play more, bigger groups, smarter pilots ect.

the wierdest one though is a week ago I stumbled across a group of Nomads in the asteroids around Tripoli Shipyard. Needless to say it freaked me out as I never see Nomads outside of the edge nebulas in the top of the sector so I investigated and found an unidentified jumpgate and went through. on the other side there were two planets and you can dock on them.
there were also swarms of nomads, huge swarms I must have killed at least 60 of em before I got out.

Bounty Hunters? don't waste my time I use bounty hunters for target practice

@ bensmith, that's you reputation with the faction, and understandably would raise itself if you destroyed it's enemy's of it.
