What's the approximation of firepower from capital ship to cruiser to gunboat to heavy fighters to light fighters? Such as 1 battleship = 2 cruisers = 4 gunboats = 8 heavy fighters = 10 light fighters. I realise this is sensative to each house, so we'll presume I'm talking about Liberty (I don't think you engage any other house's cruisers in the game, or even see them for that matter). Off topic, but then again, so is stalking each other. --- VH16

When I think about that, that actually sounds really cool, a ship like a Patriot with a oversized gun on top so when you fired it you would spin around like crazy. But anyway, tanks on planets sounds stupid, you know what i would like? if planets have 2 ways to takeoff, planetary and space. Then if you chose planetary, there would be a bunch of convoys driving around among faction-based tanks and such, and you could fly around like a planetside assault craft...... But it would take too much coding and time and it has its balance problems (but then again, you never use land, you stay in your fighter only difference is your flying planetside)

How do people get arround on plannets? Do they all just fly arround in thier ships? In that case, where are all the other landing pads? Maybe I'm just too inquisitive about this game. --- VH16

Before the Wright brothers they said men would never fly. They also said in 1950 that we'd have a moon base by 1989. Makes you think.

If you had a ship that could reach speeds of 300K/s and was heavily armed would you drive something?

And waste all that H-fuel? --- VH16

Where's the gas cap on an Eagle?

Nah, FL ships run on infinite fuel resources.

Post Mon Dec 22, 2003 11:43 pm

I think the larger ships need to be refuled (ie battleships) or else how would the GMG stay in business? It just makes life easier not to use it in the game. I've found myself with 250 credits to my name, and if I wasted all that on enough H-fuel to break orbit, then where would I be? --- VH16

Probably not here because I would have thrown out FL and never found this site

...In space.

I'm not saying FL should have absolute reality, but a ship without fuelconsumption, even in a game, seems very unlikely to me.

unless it burns what it produces...that would be interesting...

Third law of thermodynamics. Burning, by definition, uses (and wastes) energy. You can't break even without bending the laws of physics. Then again, our laws of physics maintain that planets 80 kilometers apart should collide. --- VH16

Well, let's pretend that gravity doesn't exist in Sirrius and it all makes sense
