Warning Trade route spoiler-do not read if you like to explore and find out everything for yourself.
Here is a good route. Buy diamonds for 198 at Ronneburg base in Omega. Sell them in Cambridge for 870 or so then buy pharmaceuticals there and return to Ronneburg. This is one of the best 1 system trade routes.
You can go 1 extra system to New LOndon to get about 1050 for the diamonds. Then buy Light arms for 350 and return to Ronnebug base and sell light arms for 1200. Real good 2 system trade.
Actually timing of all trades would take eons. A good guide is to take the total profit for the trade. Then devide buy the number of systems you need to travel through. See in the above example if you do a round trip from Ronneburg to New LOndon and back you net 1530 per cargo. Multiple that buy 275 cargo capacity of a Drommedary and you net over 400,000 credits a trip.
The round trip from Roddenbury to Cambridge will only net 944 per cargo. But since its only 1 system away instead of the 2 to New LOndon, It will net more profit in less time.
Important note is that you need to be at least neutral with the Red Hessians and Corsairs. You need to be neutral with the Hessians to dock with Ronneburg Base. You need to be neutral or allied with the Corsairs to use the jumphole from Omega 5 to Cambridge. As there Cadiz base is close and has many platforms. If you are Hostile to Bretonia Police Cambridge will be unaccessible.
The easiest way to get the proper alliances for this trade. Is go to Freeport 1 in Omega3. Buy the Hessian Bribe. Then also at Freeport 1 buy the Corsair Bribe. Buying the Corsair bribe will lose your alliance with the Hessians as the Corsairs and Hessians are enemies. However the Hessions will still be in the green or neutral. Next you can buy a bribe with The Bretonia police ( I got mine at Leeds)
Then the trade lanes will be cleared for you and you can land at Cambridge planet. Its important what order you get the bribes in. All these bribes cost me around 250,000 credits but they will pay for them selves in less then 1 trade.
Note watch out for mines around Ronneburg base and Cadiz base. Use thrusters only, no cruise speeds there. Any good route has to have some dangers.
Another plus of this route is the distance to the jumphole from to Omega 5 is not that far from the trade lanes. The distance from the jumphole to Ronneburg base is not that far either. The remainder of the route is via trade lanes.
