weird problem

I am currently level 8. Just sinished mission 4. That is, i went to leeds for the first time and talked to tobias, bought a ship, and started doing some freelance work and trading. Now, my worth according to my player status is 175,000. The goal to reach level 9 is 72,000. I am still at level 8 and can't level up!

You need 72,000 more till you hit 9.

have you installed the official freelancer 1.1 patch? it screws up your levelling system in SP

Most people with this problem have it cuz they installed the 1.1 patch, which is ONLY for servers , even tho the DL page says:

"There is really no need to install the update unless you are running a server or are unable to play multiplayer because you can't get an ID."

The wording should be a little stronger, as in DON'T unless these two conditions are present!

At the point in the game, 72,000 doesn't mean 72,000 more. If you've downloaded the patch, see above replies. If not, try buying/selling a bunch of stuff to get your net worth below 72,000, then get back above it and see if that triggers the next stage.
