playing Freelancer again

after a long time, and taking a second look. It's not really that bad a game, come to think of it. It is actually quite good. I have to admit that I had to get over my newbie FL bashing tendencies: "it didn't live up to expectations" and "no joystick support" and "microsoft messed the whole thing up," but I look at it as a total from a more mature perspective and realize it still rocks. An huge universe, cool ships and weapons, and complete freedom. Now I remember why I bought this thing.

Yeah, totaly Imagine!
This is a great game, don't let anybody from Egosoft or anywhere else tell you different.
To this day it's the only game I spend so much hours on.

I'd say Freelancer Forever!

Naa, he just wants to believe that he's not a newbie anymore.

The multitude of play combinations FL offers is unlike any other game in the market. Since its release FL is the game I spent most of video gaming hours. I still play Mechwarrior and assorted flight simulators, but FL's game engine is far superior to the others. There are more missions and the open-ended universe concept allows the player many game scenarios.

One more thing, no fees for persistent-universe multiplayer.
No other space sim on the market that does that.

The only game I've played more than Freelancer is X-Wing Alliance, and Freelancer is rapidly catching up.

@Imagine, you always show wisdom in your posts. I have never thought of you as a newbie, I am pleased you are finding new appreciation with Freelancer. If only my system worked right, I would join you in that appreciation.

BTW, can I use you as a scorekeeper in my new play?
