Is there news about an expansion/FL2?

I been on the boards since April, and have been wondering what is the offical news
from DA/MS? I thought I had seen an article by a Lancers Reactor admin about an expansion pack for FL. I've done a search for this article, but I haven't found it.
If I remember correctly, the admin had a contact at DA, that said that an expansion
pack was in the works. Is this true? Can anyone please confirm?

If they're doing anything, they've certainly not told us about it, and aren't likely to until whatever they're doing is near complete. (Don't read into this, I don't know anything, just stating the fact.)

My opinion (which don't mean nothing) is that they are making Freelancer 2 and it will have some of the latest technology available and possibly something new they came up with, so they want to keep a tight lid on it.

Hopefully it will be a Christmas present to the PC gaming fans around the world.

If they are making a second version of Freelancer.

Oh please let it be so.

FL is a surprisingly polished game....there seem to be a lot of care and attention that went into it. the problem is or was that it took something like 5 years to finished right??? only M$ would tolerate it.(wonder why its hasnt made it to XBOX, sems a perfect choice of flightsim and controller)

i doubt the Xmas release, there would ahve been some hype for the XBOX way way b4 a PC version

Anyway. I think it's to quiet for an expansion. I'm going along with the Sequal theory.
Also, they could be making a new Lancer game to succed Freelancer. Would be something like <whatever>lancer.

This is what I think. If they're making an expansion, we may hear something in the next few months. Then if it's a completely new Lancer game, there's a good chance we'll have to wait another year...maybe longer. Remember, when Chris Roberts first announced FL, he said it was already 2 years in the making. But with so many people eager to know what's going on, it might be sooner.

But until we get some kind of official word from DA, it's best not to jump to any conclusions.

Its quite easy to contact DA, asking for alpha plot details etc for use in a mod etc and if they would release them etc etc normally gets you in contact
