How's this for a expansion?

The reason the Coalition won the war is because the Nomads helped them.

The Nomads were attacking the Colonies because they were honoring their bargain with the Coalition.

Because they failed they send the Coalition through the hypergate. Now you have the Nomads and the Coalition invading.

even Blizzard only takes 6 months to get out an expansion....MS is too busy with litigation and the RTS mob to worry about lancer poeple

I don't know if anyone will agree with me, but this is kinda what I'd like to see happen:

1) They continue the story with an expansion. This would have a few extra SP missions and a bunch of those "extra things" that you people want. (I won't say any of them because that's not what the thread is about). Since it's just a matter of adding content, it could easily be done by another development team (within Microsoft). Which leads to...

2) With someone else working on an expansion, DA could put their efforts into a completely new FL based game. I feel that a MMORPG has the most potential, but people want the current plot to continue, which is where the expansion comes in.

If things really happen that way (which is a BIG if), I also have an idea of the time frame. Between now and February next year, the expension would be unveiled. It would then (hopefully) be release this time next year. Then afterwards, at around Q2 05 they make the "BIG announcement", and finally reveal a "FL2" in the making. The final release of this (assuming it doesn't suffer the same problems as FL1) would be around 05-06, but I'm confident it'll be worth the wait.


Well this is just a collection of thought's I've had for like a few months now. I just felt like mentioning them so I could hear what you people think. Mind you, I have a lot of thoughts like this and they rarely ever come true. Though it's sad when I think of something good (at least I think so) and it never happens.

Although Blizzard does churn out expansion packs quickly, it was only W3 The Frozen Throne that was any good. Perhaps it would be better to wait quietly. Far too many games have come out unfinished because of consumer pressure. The Sims expansions getting progressively worse being an example of this. Half-Life 2 may not live up to expectations because Valve is being hurried. If we stopped badgering MS and DA, then they'll be able to release expansions and sequels in their own time.

If i'm not mistaken frozen throne and brood wars were released a full year later than their counterparts. no to mention LoD.


how should i know? i bought them all the days it came out.
