Life Pods

Why don't you destroy ships and tractor in the life pod. Then take them to prison ships for money. It makes the prison ships more worthwhile

I guess that would make sence, but then there could be a chance of them trying to take over your ship or something.

Somebody in a life pod in a locked cargo hold isn't likely to be much of a threat.

Remember Privateer, where you could blast ships, suck in the escape pods and sell the pilots as slaves? Now that was evil.

Someone made a mod where escape pods were a commodity you could tractor in then sell them. I just can't remember who did it or what mod it was in. Maybe it was just early discussions I saw when I first joined TLR. The point is someone was working on it at the very least. And it shouldn't be too hard. Unless you want to create graphics for the ejected pilot.

REBALANCE is a good mod but no offense to the mod maker it still is too unstabile....

have none of you people seen "Pitch Black"??!?!?!?!!

If you tractor in a convict and tie him up in all manner of ways, it won't matter when you crash land on desert planet, that is occupied only by blood thirsty nocturnal creatures and is about to go into a year long solar eclipse! You'll end up letting him go in an attempt to gain manpower and in he'll end up feeding you to the aforementioned evil creatures, before desperately attempting to steal your ship...whats wrong with you people!?!!

hmm - someone beat me too it then - lol

You get pirates 'ejecting' from pirate ships in my mod - whom you can do four things to:
1) Sell back to pirates - they pay okay money to 'liberate' their chums
2) Sell to stations/planets for small money
3) Sell to the Prisons of the game for more money
4) Take them to a bounty hunter station and sell for alot - its a 'bounty' - but if bounty hunters scan you and find the pirates inside - they will attack you - they want that pirate bounty themselves don'tcha know?

It also has tourists and passengers to run around - but you can sell them to the outcasts in omicron alpha for alot of money - they want em as slaves - which in turn you can buy in alpha - along with child slaves.

Also - pets are a commoditiy for the rich and shameless- but if you are carrying pets in the presence of outcasts, then they will rob you too. Why? As the pets provide a nice way for them to smuggle the cardamine - they erm....'stuff' the animals full of cardamine, which you can then transport and then 'sell' at house planets.

There are others too - stowaways, absinthe, tobacco, prisoners, some commodities that can only be got through mining etc etc - the usual

There is alot more stuff too - it will be entering beta testing next week

@chips that sounds awesome! whats it gonna be called? things like that really bring out the realism that should have been in the game in the first place....your mod should make it almost elite-esque. i look forward to playing it

Gromit, unless you pick up Vin Diesel, the frog throated "actor" who could yell his way out of a paper bag, you should be ok. As for those crazy bat things, just don't do anything foolish like running off to Dagobah.
