Why are Rogue ships unneccisarilly big?

Seriously...their light fighter is as big as their transport!

I mean...why have a big target when your trying to pirate ships and the like? That's probably one of the reasons why they are so easy to kill...and that's why if I am going to drive a big target...might as well be a Dromedary

Eh....it's what they like.

I've never wanted to fly one... they're big, ungainly, easy to hit, and, above all, ugly with a capital UG.

There's only two types of people who play Freelancer:
-Those who think the Sabre is the best ship;
-Those who are wrong.

The easier to shoot, that's all.

Maybe Liberty Rogues are really big guys and need a lot of room.

Yah to store up the Cardimine!

@Puke: you mean their ego's. that actually makes sense, they keep attacking my Eagle. They actually think they have a chance in a bloodhound?

It is ugly tho. The Bloodhound I mean.

The bigger the ship,
the bigger the ego,
the bigger the target,
the bigger the BOOM.

I have my own theory...

Remember what they say about guys with big cars? They need to make up for uh...yeah....

Anyway...as big as the bloodhound and wolfhound are...you'd figure they would easily be able to hit 100 cargo...or maybe....they have a super huge area that takes up 3/4 of possible cargo space to store their cardimine supplies...they do jump alot of ships...never know when you need a boost to keep from getting sick...

And I also have a theory on why the Outcasts have those things on their face...they are super advanced vaporizors...and THAT is why they are so good in combat...a hit from that vaporizor...and your set...regular smoking...hah! You are basically wasting it!

Then again...its an OT theory...haha

That's one reason... and the most creative that isn't totally off the wall I've heard yet. I think the best reason I've heard though, is that they're so genetically altered that they can't breathe oxygen normally... they need to super-concentrate it, or process some other trace gas to breathe.

Never really noticed that they are all that much bigger then any other ship. Sure the Bloodhound is tall but it is very skinny(think dagger on its side). And they maybe ugly but they can pack quite the punch. A Mule can be deadly up till Kusari for missions and can handle Titans and Sabers outside of missions quite nicely with the proper setup.

AS stated above, it was likely made bigger as to create an easier target for a newb to the game (or any first person fighter combat game)

***MODERATE SPOILER***

For anyone who didnt know, the Outcasts have the masks because everything on Malta contained Cardamine. Over time, constantly eating drinking and breathing a form of Cardamine altered thier genetic code. When they were able to again venture into space, many pilots would get very sick, or simmply never return. A scan of thier DNA revealed that thier genetic code contained subtle traces of the Cardamine present in everything around them. If any Outcast went to long without Cardamine, they would go into Analeptic shock, and eventually die.

To counter this, they wear masks that inject gaseous Cardamine into the air they breathe, keeping them alive.

But the thickies who run the prisons don't know that and wonder why Outcast prisoners keep snuffing it on them ...
