I saw a screen shot of several different kinds, are these player accesible or are they just npc ships or are they mods, if so where can I get them? Thanks for any help you can give.

Battleships, gunships, and Crusers are all NPC ships, but if you want to fly them, try the TNG Mod.

There are also two battleship mods that come with Freelancer Mod Manager. To get others, just download them from this site.

You cannot take over with one battleship, for many people with boom boom sticks will overwhelm you.

they're especially fun in TNG, because they become target practice for shadow ships and antimatter torpedo bait

BS are slow but. You can get slaughted by a nearby enemy patrol
