Ale

I was wondering. Manhattan is spose to be the richest place in Liberty, right?

Then why does the bar only sell Liberty Ale? It makes no sence. You'd think they would diversafy and get a greater profit.

Anyway, any comments, thoughts?

The fact there is only one bar means they have a monopoly and can sell anything they damn well please that costs them the least amount of money to make a profit. I guarentee if there were two bars, you'd at least have two drinks to choose from.

Yes, I sudpose that would make some sence. But are we really sure there is only one bar per planet? Per station, sure, but not planet.

We only visit one bar per planet, that may be because it's the closest to the landing pad that we use.

Maybe there are more bars.....

On another thought, wouldn't it be diffrent that when you selected the bar option, equipment dealer option, ship dealer option, you can go to diffrent shops and buy diffrent stuff or the same stuff for a diffrent price.

Well. Sir Spectre is halfway there... Did you know that Liberty Ale is a liquid by product of H Fuel, just with cheap rate alchol put in? Thats why its so cheap, and tastes so bad.....

Bein an Outcast is about doin things you wanna do: Kill, Terrorise, Murder, Destroy, Smoke Cardamine, ya know, normal stuff.....

RILMS:

But you'd think that one so close to landing pad would have the best access to all the new stock from other planets and bases. So they must have a tarriff on the alcohol shipments so their home grown Liberty Ale will look more appealing to the thrifty bar owner.

Killzone:

Yes I heard that, but the cheep rate alcohol is actully fermented from rejected cardamine, which also explains why they don't need other ales, everyone is addicted to them.

They learned that trick from Coka Cola because it originally was made from Cocaine plants.

Sir Specter:

Yes, I heard that. Good marketing try.

Also Sir Specter:

Yes, that would also make sence. It wouldn't intice patrons to come and drink, unless it was addictive as Killzone had stated previously.

Very odd....You'd think the decendance of the States would be more open to free trade....

Liberty is an American system. And everyone knows that -- with the exception of a few microbreweries -- American beer tastes like horse p*ss mixed with ocean brine.

p.s. Let the flames follow!

Actually I agree with that, probly why americans reckon our Foster's is alrite.

And actually they dont just have liberty ale, remember the bartender gives Trent a drink of "the good stuff" later on

Sometimes the glass is half full, other times its half empty. Usually its just twice as big as it really needs to be

I understand there's been a big promotion of Foster's in the US. Probably by comparison, it does seem better. There have been some great lesser known American brews I've tried. But as soon as they become popular, the big brands in the US buy them out and change them to taste like all the rest.

So what's the beer of choice in Oz now? Haven't been there in years. I've had some decent enough Strine wine.

p.s. I thought maybe the "good stuff" offered to Trent by the Uncle Tobias clone was some sort of moonshine or poteen. Something a lot stronger than ale. Amazing that you only see Trent drink about twice in the entire game, even though he keeps hanging out in bars.

Depends on your taste here mate. Crown Lager's pretty popular though. Lot of microbreweries opening up now and the lesser known stuff isnt that bad either. Lot of people going for the more expensive stuff now and moving away from the cheap n nasty Vic Bitter sorts

Maybe Trent goes into bars looking for something other than a drink!

...After all, he does swish when the camera follows him in.

I should be handing you your lungs.

@ Puke Barwalker,

lol, good point. But one beer from the states is fairly good, Sky from Milwakei. Looks like water, but has a sting on it.

Anyway, Trent goes into bars looking for work....how odd...sounds like another buisness I've heard of.

Perhaps he had been too often taken advantage of with date rape drugs in his drinks and stays away from the more potent one in case of such a thing happening again.

Perhaps the bartender in LIberty only said that he's only got Liberty Ale simply because he didn't like Trent on first sight, and decided to hold out on the better stuff. Maybe he just doesn't like guys with effeminate walks.

There's only two types of people who play Freelancer:
-Those who think the Sabre is the best ship;
-Those who are wrong.

Perhaps the better drink the bartender was holding back was a mug of Manchester Rum imported from the Gemini Sector, the only drink in Privateer.

The lack of choice for drinks must make a Freelancer's life rather dull.
