I'm very much third person. When I'm in the cockpit, I sometimes can't see when I fire my guns. Very annoying. It's also easier to follow your target in 3rd, or at least thats how I see it.

I love the cockpit view, but all the waeapon effects kill my graphics card. Every time I fire the framerate drops to about 10. But I do like to use it for regular navigation, and for combat using weapons such as mines, which don't create such a big slowdown problem.

3rd person view rocks ass. like what everyone said, 1st person isnt really meant for combat cos it blinds you with the blasts from your cannons. 1st person however is perfect for cruising around cos its more realistic in a way, making u feel as tho' your in the cockpit.

Cockpit view all the way. Much more realistic than watching yourself from the outside, imo, and when you're aiming at your target, you can still actually see it! I don't do PvP that much, but I've only come out the loser so far when a NEO guy shot me from behind...then again, that's not even PvP. The cockpit view on some ships is annoying because the bars of the craft get in the way, but on most it's fine.
