I could understand someone modding a server to give a wad of credits to start with- it's a MAJOR turn-off to have to play through again if your favorite server dies. Or, for that matter, a balanced conversion mod(or even a mod that doesn't add or take away anything, just balances the existing game), or perhaps one that puts in battleship encounters...those are all fine. Hell, I'd even agree with someone using a mod for a freighter or train(I mean, they're so unbelievably weak unless people mod the files for them beyond what's needed to be flyable).
Cheating, on the other hand...that's just plain disgusting. FL's higher-level equipment could almost be considered cheating already, IMHO. Cheats are used almost exclusively by instant-gratification freaks, who want nothing more than to see things blown to atoms by their hand, and don't give half a damn about everyone else. THOSE are the people that should be shot on sight.

"Although I do not consider myself a member of the Bounty Hunters' Guild, I find that their goals and mine often follow the same path. I will aid them when I can...if they give me a percentage of the salvage from whatever they frag along the way. Hell, they were even so kind as to sell me a ship after one of my jobs with them, and I've been flying her ever since. But god help them if someone puts a bounty on THEIR heads, for I don't care who I hunt for, as long as their live capture(or untimely death) can get me enough credits to buy a decent sized mug of my favorite drink."- A Freelance Bounty Hunter.
