Grandpa strikes again, eh?

I can bet that "IF" Microsoft makes a sequel, they will unexpectedly mess it all up. Allow me to explain:

I loved the Command and Conquer Series, made by Westwood. I bought ever single C&C game they could release. Then, Westwood was sold to EA. EA changed C&C some much. They came in and almost completely destroyed the game's classic mode of play. I'm still pissed at this, but it's whearing off.

There is two companies for EA. One in Toronto, Canada and one in Seattle, Washington. The worst company yet you can actually blame it on EA Seattle. You're not the only one who is complaning. Alot of people on the official EA Forums wanted to refund Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 because it lacks gameplay on the PC Version/Game Cube/X-Box version. But the PS2 this time was developed by Black Box. EA Seattle probably does designing for games and wrecks the whole gameplay for everyone out there. Not even the majortiy EA fans could possibly enjoy this. Recently last year, I can't actually remember when but the news came that EA Seattle's buisness was shut down for good. Obviously out of buisness; and now the only company left is EA Canada. EA Canada makes the best games with much excentic gameplay than EA Seattle. Back in the past, for e.g. EA Seattle makes a PC Version of NFS, and EA Canada makes the console version of NFS and the only game I liked from EA Seattle was Need For Speed: High Stakes in 1999. R.I.P EA Seattle.

@ bar2d2: my god, is anyone gonna read all posts? this is a very good going discussion, and its gonna get clicked because people are to stupid to read all the posts. bar2d2, one of the moderators has already threatened to close the thread, if people keep posting what they want to see in freelancer 2, no, it wont have joystick support, thats the beauty of freelancer, the lack of joystick support, makes room for the mouse control. to people who have not read any of my other posts on this thread... stop posting what you would like to see in a sequal freelancer, it has been discussed many times before, and im sure you all have nothing new to bring to the table. this is not about popular demand, but wether or not ther will be a freelancer 2, keep it that way

I agree, EA sucks. I have 3 games from them I cannot play "NFS Porsche"(spyware/trojan), "NFS Hot Pursuit 2" (no SP) and "Earth & Beyond" (also no SP). They didn't learn from the NFS debacle. Instead they ramped up the effort. For "Earth and Beyond" there is no SP at all. You have to subscribe to an online server $12.95 a month US to play at all. So you buy the game and you have nothing, you basically just gave EA 30 to 50 bucks for nothing. Then you pay a monthly fee for as long as you want to play the game online with moderators and supervisors that make the rules and you have NO say as to what those rules are and NO hope of EVER being one of those moderators or supervisors. WHAT A JOKE!

With EA, it's all about the $$$$$. So, in short, if EA makes the sequel to Freelancer, I for one will NOT buy it.

sorry for the rant

Post Fri Sep 19, 2003 2:45 pm

Can we keep EA rants or any rants out of this thread? keep it on FL2 topic, or I'll have to lock it.

Post Fri Sep 19, 2003 11:26 pm

DwD: To stop posting rants, read my quote reply to PunkZombie above.
Enough said.

First of all, there should be some romance between Juni and Trent. Next it would be nice to be able to own afew ships, have your own base. and probably earn more money buy over certain bases. And at each base you can dock a no. of ships kinda like GTA.

In that way you can own more ships and dont have to lose your ship when you decided to do some freighting instead of dogfighting to earn that extra cash.

This is just my 2cents worth, hope it helps.

i am but a freelancer, tied to the hessians.

yea Rok i read that and was agreeing with you. it probably wasn't evident tho. most rants are, to say the least, slightly incoherent.
