Nope, there has been no word from DA or MS about a sequel. That's not to say they are not making one, but who knows what's going on in that little office in Texas.

Well actually, I heard this rumor through a secret letter sent to PC Gamer Magazine about the great sales of Freelancer and the next one will focus more on Freelancing.

In a sequel, I'd like to see a storyline that takes advantage of more of the galaxy map, more of the ships, etc etc. I felt that in this one, the story ended about halfway through the game - i.e., you're only level 16 or so, can't get any of the good ships/weapons, and so on.

I'd also like to see the prices of ships and weapons increase, such that in order for you to take advantage of going up levels, you need more money, and as such, have to do more in the game to get ahead. Since ships aren't all that expensive, I don't have to do all that much trading before I can afford the next one. Not challenging enough.

lethal larry; the moderators have been "clicking" threads that are going into wat ppl want to see in the sequals... discontinue discussing it, or this thread will most likely close...

i expect the will create a sequal, the game ending was left wide open, "no, they're gone, but they're not beaten"... "to be the eyes andears of the ***** here in liberty"... it would be cruel to us to not make a sequel

I found that to be a good feature, I felt more compelled to play on after the story knowing that there was more gear to uncover and systems to visit. But each to thier own.

You would think there would be a sequel if they could make money off it. They allready have the game engine so it wouldnt be that difficult. Also, no sorce code has been released yet...

Grandpa strikes again, eh?

I can bet that "IF" Microsoft makes a sequel, they will unexpectedly mess it all up. Allow me to explain:

I loved the Command and Conquer Series, made by Westwood. I bought ever single C&C game they could release. Then, Westwood was sold to EA. EA changed C&C some much. They came in and almost completely destroyed the game's classic mode of play. I'm still pissed at this, but it's whearing off.

in FL2 i would like to see it more dynamic, like national borders changing with players actions and Supply and Demand just like the Stock Market with prices going up and down, and way more types of random missions

shultznachel (i cant say german names, sorry), i already told larry off for metioning what he'd like to see, its usually a good idea to read all the posts first, i dont think the moderators are going to tolerate another annoying "i wanna see this and this, and this and that, and such and such in freelancer 2" any longer, so dont do it

freelancer 2: trent is retired and does nothing

"start new game"
"you have reached level 32"
"game over"

punkzombie: ya i completely agree with you. EA ruined the C&C series. tiberian sun was a great game, but then comes red alert 2 (EA made), which kind of sucked, and then EA completely screws it up with generals. and renegade? that was a laugh. it was a puny attempt at a FPS by EA. Then westwood goes out of buisness, as a result of their affliation with EA.
yea, that was kinda spam
but more on topic,

i really think that, however long it takes, there will be a FL2, or something like it. it would probly sell even better than the oringinal FL.

Wait, EA made Red Alert 2? I liked that one. I didnt like the expansion pack for it though.

You all are right. No matter how long it takes, I'll be sitting here till FL2 arrives at my local Walmart. That, or I'll buy the new Westwood game called "Who Wants To Beat Up A EA Employee". Patiently......

P.S. How do you end a thread?
