Really Annoying

Ive seen this posted alot and its really starting to annoy me;

"How come the Corsairs dont take over house territories seeing as they have superior technology and pilots?"

Well look at it this way if they did attempt to conquer a house territory not only would they have to take on the house navy, military and police but also the house corporations and criminals (i.e the mollys and the gaians might be against their government buy they arent gonna stand and watch as foreigners take over their territory) and also the Corsair population is no where close to any of the house factions, thus they would be outnumbered 100+-1. And they would have to go up against capitol ships.
Corsairs news indicates theyre moving forces close to Rheinland to attempt an invasion, Rheinland might only have one battleship but IMO its safe becasue of Red Hessians with Sabres and the Rheinland HF is no piece of cake either.

Also one of the rumors on Tripoli shipyard is that the corsairs have pilots to spare but Tripoli is working at full capacity to meet demand for ships. So they couldnt match the industrial might of any house territory.

Some people might feel thier Titans is superior in SP and can take on 10-15 ships at a time thus making it seem easy but thats because your shield regenerates and you have the experimental weopons, nanobots and shield batteries, if not for these things the titan is balanced with other ships.

Taking all this into account the Corsairs current strategy of pirating and gureilla warfare makes perfect sense to me.

It also appears that the Corsair population is not that large. Plus they are extremely xenophobic and will not intermarry with anyone else, so their population is going to stay small! If they were so all powerful, they would have eliminated their Red Hessian enemies long ago. If they can't do that, how can they take over entire systems???

The Corsairs do not have a major ship building industry. Note that their shipyard is only of limited capacity. I did get a "rumour" that the Corsair technology in part was derived from ship building knowledge on some of the artifact they have found. Interesting that no one else seems to have been able to "read" the artifacts or figure them out.

what????

i went to crete and there r at least 25 ships piled up to dock while more keep coming!

and, i dont think the houses' pirates would mind.
cause it only means better guns and stuff to loot.
<the corsairs arent stupid, the will make a treaty with the pirates to help to> <take over the other houses>

sticks and stones may break my bones but whips and chains excite me!

The corsairs and the Outcasts could increase their profits alot if they worked together, but they don't because of pride. The pirates aren't interested in being partners, only masters.

I agree with Scipio, all that talk about Corsairs 'easily' taking over other systems annoyed me too.

Also bear in mind that the Corsairs have way too many enemies.
Just imagine the Corsairs taking over the Sigma systems in order to take over Rheinland or Kusari next. Why can't they? Simple - the GMG and the Outcasts. Both are fiercely protective of their territory - the GMG would fight to the end for 'their' sigma systems, and the Outcasts wouldn't tolerate their enemies so close to Ruiz and Malta.
Just imagine the Corsairs taking over the rest of the Omega systems, in order to take over Rheinland or Bretonia next. Why can't they? Simple - Bretonia, the IMG, Rheinland, the Red Hessians, etc. etc. etc. Just a little too much, I think :p
They're stuck in Omega 5, 7, 11, and 41, and Omicron Gamma for now.

The outcasts are an other story though... They wouldn't be able to take over Sirius, but they're becoming quite influential.

The Corsair only care for foods, not the System

The corsairs could not take over the galaxy they have to many enemies . If the Hessens and the BH couldn't beat them the outcasts would. If anyone takes over the un iverse it would be the bounty hunters

No science fiction force could ever take controll over a galaxy. Maybe a sector. The Corsairs might be able to take certain systems out, like the omicron, and omega systems. But not the whole sector/

You seem to forget, some faction does own a whole galaxy..... Humans.
Dont forget that.

On the contrary, the Tyr controled all of several galaxys in "the madness season"
And the corsairs would be eaten alive 8)

As part of my story Ive been trying to think of ways for the Corsairs to invade Rheinland...
Heres the battle plan Ive devised so far:
Push BHG out of Om Theta and capture Freeport 9 (kill zoners if nesecceary)
Make food at FP9 and ships in Om Gamma
Meanwhile Hogosha does something to stop Samura going to Sig 17
Capture Atka research station and 'aquire' formula for the legal cardamine substitue (read about it in rumours)
In Sig 13 IGNORE GMG
Attack frankfurt...

Of course it alls goes pearshaped there. There is no way the Corsairs could mount an invasion of Rheinland as they are at the moment. Thank goodness for the supreme power of the plot contrivance eh.

Killzone -

Human own the Sirius sector because there was no one to defend it when they first settle...see how easily they couldve fallen to the Nomads.

demouser -

Laff i couldnt imagine the BH take over NY let alone the whole of Sirius.

Sybot -

Heres an idea of how Corsairs could gain the edge for your story:
Say a young corsair sent on his ritual for manhood (forgot whats its called) found a powerful artifact (cloaking tech etc) this would give them a better chance agaisnt Rheinland.

If you read the new you'd know that the corsairs have almost finished a new engine technology, giving their ships a 50% increase in speed. That would boost the standard 80/200/300 speeds into 120/300/450 speeds. They could go regular cruise speed using their thrusters. This would give them such an advantage, then people won't be able to stand against them.

Why couldn't people stand against them, just because they had faster ships? They'd still be greatly outnumbered. The Japanese aircraft in the beginning of the Pacific War -- 1941 & '42 -- were superior to anything the Allies had. But who won that war? Just capture one Corsair ship and you'd have the engine technology too.

Refering to WW2 the Corsairs invading Rheinland kinda reminds me of the Germans attempt to invade Europe, The germans and superior technology and better trained infantry but were outnumbered. And look what happen to them, sure they managed to capture a few countries but in the end they lost their own homeland. Now if the corsairs attempt a invasion this will be the likely result, they would capture a few systems (mabye dresden and struttgart) then the rest of the houses will push them back to Omicron Gamma.

And since capitol punishment is acceptable in Sirius its wouldnt be very good for the Corsairs if their homeworld was found.

K i know this sounds crazy but its 3 in the morning and im waiting for my DL to finish. so plz forgive the crazy ideas im thinking up without any sleep
