Ship speeds

I think i have asked this before, but do all ships go at the same speed, I thought they do as from what it says at the bottom, but why is it sometimes when you are in jumplanes you get overtaken?

Unless you have a mod, all ships have the same max speed, max w/thrusters and cruise speed. In tradelanes the speed varies (you seem to slow down when you approach a ring the speed up again)

i think the different speeds are there because MS or DA doesn't want to make the same mistake as in SL where all ships had different speeds. In the end, everybody used the fastest ship to kill eachother, all the others became obsolete

Supposedly, all ships have the same speed. Except for those that go faster than you ...

Hey, it's Microsoft. You expect logic???

Whine, whine, whine... Yeah the ships don't go differen't speeds, but it's got to be one of Microsoft's rare good achievements that the game is still balanced. The ships all have different maneuverabilty and handling don't they?

The truth sets you free.

I never have a problem with the approach speed to trade lanes and whatever else I'm dockign with... I proceed manually at ramming speed until I'm at point blank range and THEN hit F3.

Balanced? Not to sound too offensive, but what rock have you been hiding under?

I will aid them when I can...if they give me a percentage of the salvage from whatever they frag along the way. Hell, they were even so kind as to sell me a ship after one of my jobs with them, and I've been flying her ever since. But god help them if someone puts a bounty on THEIR heads, for I don't care who I hunt for, as long as their live capture(or untimely death) can get me enough credits to buy a decent sized mug of my favorite drink."- A Freelance Bounty Hunter.
