Yes for TNG they went through a lot of effort and work and should be applauded.
Since you start out with class 3 weapons it makes class 1 & 2 completely worthless. Making the Special Weapons Class 1 is moot since everything can mount at least Class 3. Allowing a Class 10 Type weapon to be mounted into a Class 1 slot renders the atempt to make all other buyable weapons balanced to be a complete waste of time for the person who designed those weapons. I was double leveling in the SP Campaign and I was not taking any extra missions! By the end of the 2nd or 3rd mission I had 2 LvL 10 Turrets, lots of lvl 9 guns and even though I couldn't mount them on my ship didn't matter,I had 4 LVL 10 guns that could be mounted as LVL 1. Upon landing in Cali Minor there was a Jedi Defender that I bought for 500k, (just for the turret) just chump change, after all in this MOD what's 500k or even a million credits? If you need cash, just find a liberty Rogue and maybe they won't survive that first shot, so 2 seconds of fight time, tractor and you have leveled up 1 or more times! Not to mention you can sell those 5 weapons for at least 90k each.
while it is obvious that a lot of effort was put into it, the inverse is true for the player. They did all the work so you, the player, can sit back and enjoy the show, oops I meant game.
