No, but you can minimize its' effects by careful planning. In SP I bought a whole
lot of cheap Order equipment and mounted that stuff before entering rad areas.
This cut down on the repair costs. Also, plan your routes carefully, both in and
out. Shortest distance/time results in lower repairs. Not all rad fields are the
same strength, you can fly in Tau-23 forever and get no damage, despite rad alert.

Its a good idea for a mod but no one seems to be acting on it. Bring it up in the Mod forums and do us ALL a favour.

You know with all that radiation Trent is never gonna have kids.....

That's a relief.

p.s. Wonder if he glows in the dark?

CHAINDOG, all you can do with the high radiation areas is fly a ship that can carry lots of nanobots. Even the best shields are no use against radiation damage. If you fly into a radiation field in a ship that carries few nanobots, you'll be eaten up very quickly and explode. I learnt that the hard way.

p.s. The Titan carries the most nanobots, which is really its big plus. It steers like a beer wagon, but it can go through any radiation field in one piece.

How about mining with a Liberty Dreadnaught?
I did, though I stayed very long, draining my hull down 3 points.
That is a lot, I had to spend 200k in repairs.
I were mining diamonds in Omega 11.

Heh of course he glows in the dark... Backround radiation when hes around is enough to trash a Geiger Counter, Oh hello Trent we need to check your rad levels... CRACKLE CRACKLE CRAAAAACK BOOM OH Lord! Dont come near me! Wait you should be dead! Oh my! The radiation is making him some kind of zombie! Arghhhh!

Wait, has this got anything to do with the topic? No? Well I hope someone laughted at my sad attempted.....
