Freelancer Movie

Considering the fact that there hasn't been a decent sci-fi film made for quite a few years, couldn't someone create a Freelancer movie? The existing game storyline is head and shoulders above some of the trash I've watched recently like Pitch Black, Red Planet and Mission to Mars.

It wouldn't even be very expensive to make, as you could just use the ingame cutscene engine to create a perfectly watchable movie without the need for expensive actors and special effects. All you'd need to do is fill in between the existing cutscenes with spaceflight action, get the existing cast to voice them over, and voila!!!!

I wrote some stories based of the game "Starsiege" which came out quite good. I should tie in Freelancer with it. I'd do it if some others were interested in a project. I KNOW we have a lot of talented computer guys who frequent these and other forum that could make a computer animated movie at the very least. I'm a writer but not that gifted with a computer.

after watching that...i started thinking...who needs actors apart from needing the voices??

Just my $0.02, but it could just be the cardamine talking.

Trent just HAS to be played by John Cleese! (Especially since Marty Feldman is dead ...)

The inflight animation then has to be done by Terry Gilliam.

who would play Tobias ,Windsor Davis is too old .
20 years ago he would have been perfect

John Rhys-Davies should play Tobias; he was the voice after all. For Trent, we would need someone stiff and emotionally-inept. That's why Freddie Prince Jr is a perfect choice. Juni, anbody but Lucy Liu.
