It's a minor bug. Just take any mission or go out and blast some bad guys. It should sort itself out.

Try taking some random missions from the other fractions. And/or do some trade runs.

Are you absolutly certain that you are completely done with the story? Check the star button. See if it says to go any where.

Since finishing, or at least i think finishing... after nomads and being brought back to planet manhattan, it says find a job... well i found many explored lots of the universe and made all that money, i did many missions (jobs), killed lots of guys, did lots of trading, but always stayed at level 18 and the next level was always: "mission"... am i done with the story line?

yes, story IS done

ok then, is there any known fixes to this "bug" or am i missing something... if i copied saved games, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, would the saved games still work? maybe this would fix the "bug"?

You could try the technical forum. They could probably be more helpful.
You can keep your saved game when you reinstall, although I doubt that would be useful.

there's quite a few tricks...search the forums you'll find there's loads on here about it. its usually caused by installing the server patch from the official site, easiest thing to do is to reinstall from your cd, but if you have the patience simply do a few jobs that fetch in 20,000 or more and you'll soon level.
