The Xenos: How dumb are they?

I must say, the xenos are the most pointless faction. I mean, who wants to be enemy to everyone? Allies are always helpful to have.
They are easy allies to get, as long as you don't blow them to pieces before hand.

Any comments?

Yeah, the Xenos are really pointless, but they sure are funny.
They disrupt your trade lane and act all tough in their starfliers (in liberty), then get completely incinerated when you launch a barrage of torpedoes right into their cockpit from your uber VHF (whichever one, it doesn't matter, it's still fun).
And they seem to have no point in being pirates, just pirates for the sake of it.
I've never seen them in much better than a dagger when continuing their sad, dreary lives of piracy.

The Xenos do have some unexpected friends - they're just not close enough to be listed as allies. And if you shoot plenty of criminals but no Xenos then the Xenos stop shooting pretty soon. Of course, this takes longer if you have shot some already.

When they are no longer hostile go to one of their bases and read the news. It's good for a chuckle or two.

On the other hand, if you do shoot Xenos when they attack you then their enemies (almost all lawfuls and all criminals) will like you better.

BTW, Xenos do not fly Daggers - like many other factions they fly civilian ships. They are the toughest to defeat of all factions that fly the same ships, even though the game designers reduced their weapon loadout dramatically to make them less hard to defeat. For example, their Starfliers carry only two guns instead of three. If you scan the Xenos ships then you'll see that they all fight with one hand tied behind their back but they are tough even so.

P.S.: the Xenos do have much better ships than the two you encounter in Liberty, and despite being severely hobbled they are tough enough to kill inexperienced players in any ship (even in that class 10 hunk of junk of the Corsairs that n00bs love so much).

I swear, if you kill like 40 of them, your reputation with them isn't red, it's still neutral, so I have to say, when you kill masses of them, they're still not hostile.

If you are strong enough you don't need allies, but obviously this isn't the case here, so i suppose they are kind of ignorant indeed

they are true pirates and true pirates have no allies

I'm not sure what their goal in life is exactly, to kill everyone outside of themselves? lol Pretty strange... Anyway, they are just a nuisance with all the other pirates.

Live Long and Prosper.

One good Slingshot missile easily destroys a Xeno. They can't touch my Barracuda, no matter how many of them bother me. Wimps!

I sort of wondered why I wasn't their hero after I had helped save the system from the Nomads. You can't get much more foreign than the Nomads ...

{ATAC}Beowulf, Liberty is the kindergarten of the Freelancer universe but even there nothing dies from a single Slingshot hit; it's technically impossible. And nothing in the civilized worlds can touch a Barracuda unless you are a lousy pilot. So this doesn't say much about the Xenos.

But go visit one of the Xeno bases in the independent worlds (tickle the base with a disruptor or torpedo if the Xenos aren't hostile) and you're in for a little surprise. The easiest way to find such a base is to use the jumphole in north-western Colorado.

Puke Barwalker, Sirius at large knows nothing at all about Nomads and so no faction gives a flying meow what you do with the Nomads.
