I have just finished Freelancer. . .

This is a free discussion forum on Freelancer. This is the place to discuss Freelancer issues NOT covered by the other boards!

I have just finished Freelancer. . .

. . .and although I have a few minor complaints, Freelancer is one of the best simulators I have ever played in a long time. The free form style of flying around in a little ship and choosing to be a trader or mercenary was fun, and the ability to choose sides merely by accepting jobs and randomly attacking NPCs was a great deal of enjoyment. Although the game did get difficult in a few parts, it was easy while you were off story. Which was good, because I found you wouldn't be able to earn money whenever you wanted to. This was especially annoying when you ran out of batteries and nanobots. The graphics were also excellent, although the engine deserved a little tweaking (Take a huge story-based battle, for instance). One of the other great aspects of this game was the large amount of un-official modifications avaliable to the player, and I enjoyed flying in other people's systems for a day or two while taking a break from playing my story-based game. After defeating the Nomad menace, I decided I might as well take a trip to a local Freelancer forum to, discuss things if you will. I hope this community is friendly, as there are certain, "Others" less tolerable of people who are newer to communities who are older. Especially when they let them discuss politics out in the open. . . Although I can clearly see that you have rid of that, thankfully!

I agree, Freelancer was an excellent game, with great potential with mods and tweaks of the like, left open for whatever may or may not come next.

As for the people, pretty much everyone is cool here, open to discussion and whatnot, but some people like to turn some threads into *ahem* flame-fests. Most people will answer questions asked before, but be wary of some who say

YOU STUPID IDIOT, YOU SHOULD'VE SEARCHED THE FORUMS BEFORE POSTING THIS
obviously they wouldn't say that exactly, but you get it...again, this is very few people

BTW to those of you who do actually say that , well, ...

Welcome to the family.

Just a reminder, make sure you post your threads in the correct topic. ex. Modding in the modding forum. You'd be surprised how many ppl seem to have problems with this simple idea.

I assure you I won't post about XXX in the Freelancer Forums (That's for the General Discussion, of course). I have spent a lot of my time on, "The Internet" on forums. I thank you both for a friendly greeting, I am sure to enjoy my stay here.

I agree, it's a nice game, but it's not perfect
In one of the last missions where you have to destroy some generators, the AI was a bit freaky ... i try to take out those things with torpedos, launching them one by one, the thing gets a lot of damage, everything cool
Then, suddenly, 'mission failed', i had to load .. it appears Jun'ko was hit by my torpedos :s She flew straight into my line of fire :'(
Happened several times actually, quite ignorant

i neaver had that problem angelic anyways i completely agree with you its one of the better games i have played in a long time but i think its more of an action/RPG game then a simulator it was almost a simulator but not quite its missing some key componets of a simulator ( the reason why i can't play for extended times.) any way i hope they do make a sequel and ask for our input before they do
