I have just finished Freelancer. . .
. . .and although I have a few minor complaints, Freelancer is one of the best simulators I have ever played in a long time. The free form style of flying around in a little ship and choosing to be a trader or mercenary was fun, and the ability to choose sides merely by accepting jobs and randomly attacking NPCs was a great deal of enjoyment. Although the game did get difficult in a few parts, it was easy while you were off story. Which was good, because I found you wouldn't be able to earn money whenever you wanted to. This was especially annoying when you ran out of batteries and nanobots. The graphics were also excellent, although the engine deserved a little tweaking (Take a huge story-based battle, for instance). One of the other great aspects of this game was the large amount of un-official modifications avaliable to the player, and I enjoyed flying in other people's systems for a day or two while taking a break from playing my story-based game. After defeating the Nomad menace, I decided I might as well take a trip to a local Freelancer forum to, discuss things if you will. I hope this community is friendly, as there are certain, "Others" less tolerable of people who are newer to communities who are older. Especially when they let them discuss politics out in the open. . . Although I can clearly see that you have rid of that, thankfully!
